Omni Hotels Creates Elaborate Structures to Benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities®

IRVING, Texas (November 27, 2007) —Creating a spirit of cheer and giving, Omni Hotels’ Texas Collection kicks off the holiday season by unveiling elaborate gingerbread creations to support Ronald McDonald House Charities. In hotel lobbies across the state, impressive gingerbread structures celebrate the unique and diverse qualities of Texas.
“We’ve gone beyond the traditional gingerbread house with these large, over-the-top creations, which are sure to create wonderful winter memories for our guests,” said Jim Snow, regional vice president for Omni Hotels. “We are proud to support Ronald McDonald House Charities and all they do to help so many families across Texas and around the world.”
Omni Hotels outfitted each gingerbread creation with a mailbox for guests to place donations for Ronald McDonald House. Each property will also serve cookies and premium Chuao Chocolatier hot chocolate in the lobby during specially-scheduled times.
Omni Hotels’ Texas Collection will showcase the following gingerbread structures through January 1, 2008:

Omni Austin Hotel Downtown – Best of Austin: A group of designs honors the best of Austin’s landmarks and its live-music culture; gingerbread structures include the scenic Austin 360 Bridge (also known as Pennybacker Bridge), The University of Texas Tower and a guitar.
- Omni Austin Hotel at Southpark – Texas State Capitol: A rendering of the treasured symbol of Texas salutes one of the nation's most distinguished state capitols.
- Omni Corpus Christi Hotel Bayfront Tower – Beach House: Complete with seashells and sand, this house celebrates the spirit of this coastal city.
- Omni Mandalay Hotel at Las Colinas – Home on the Range: A house any cowboy would love to call home complete with saddles, lassos and horseshoes lauds the spirit of Texas cattlemen.
- Omni Dallas Hotel at Park West – Ranch House: A quaint, country house recognizes North Texas’ agricultural heritage.
- Omni Houston Hotel – Sprit of the West: A Western town reminiscent of Houston’s heritage, complete with a rodeo scene and early Western townscape.
- Omni Houston Westside Hotel – Santa Gone Fishing: A scene with Santa casting a line on an island in the middle of the hotel’s famous indoor lakes, paying tribute to a favorite pastime for many Houstonians.
- Omni La Mansion del Rio – Mission Concepción: One of the best preserved of the Texas missions, this replica of the Spanish-Colonial, stone church celebrates the rich history of San Antonio.
- Omni San Antonio Hotel at the Colonnade – The Alamo: A key part of the state’s history, this rendering commends the memory and spirit of those who helped achieve the independence of Texas.
