BRETTON WOODS, NH (November XX, 2012) – Omni Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Stephen Hilliard as Managing Director of the Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods. A native of the White Mountains with personal ties to the resort, Hilliard arrives with extensive New England expertise and wide-ranging knowledge in management of multi-use properties and lifestyle communities. He oversees all operations at the historic all-season address, and will work to strengthen connections throughout the region – from advancing community and political relations to recruiting exceptional associates.
Raised in Lancaster, New Hampshire, and educated at local schools, Hilliard’s roots run deep at the Omni Mount Washington Resort. His parents celebrated their 50th anniversary at the hotel; his father’s factory crafted butcher block furniture for Bretton Woods Ski Area Base Lodge; and he worked at the resort during summers while pursuing a BS degree in Hotel Administration from the Whittemore School of Business & Economics at the University of New Hampshire.
“Over three decades in the business, Steve has become extraordinarily well-versed in all aspects of luxury hospitality,” said Eric DeStefano, Regional Vice President and General Manager at Omni Hotels & Resorts. “His passion for hospitality, which began while he was growing up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, has now come full circle and taken him from resort desk clerk to Managing Director. We are thrilled to welcome him back to the resort.”
Hilliard has over 30 years of experience encompassing multiple disciplines including: full service hotels and luxury resorts, vacation rental and the various forms of shared ownership, private and public golf and beach club operations, marinas and retail shops. He was most recently with The St. Joe Company, a publicly owned developer of resort lifestyle and residential communities and one of the largest private landowners in Florida. Recruited as Managing Director Resort & Clubs, he was promoted to Vice President Resort & Club Operations in 2007 and in 2011 became Senior Vice President, Operations with responsibility for more than $250 million in assets including the highly rated WaterColor Inn & Resort in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
Hilliard resides in Bretton Woods with his wife Holly. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, golfing, hiking and horseback riding.
