Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort Renovation
Nestled in the heart of one of the country’s most iconic beach destinations, Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina seamlessly blends natural surroundings with the luxury and service known to Omni Hotels and Resorts. Canopied under lush live oaks, exotic palms and situated on the sugar sand beachfront of the Atlantic Ocean, the resort has served as a casually elegant playground for the young and young at heart for nearly 30 years.
Beginning November 2012, the resort will start a multi phase renovation project that will transform the look and feel of the entire property. Each opportunity for the guest experience including the front entrance, lobby, meeting facilities, fitness center and Ocean Tides Spa will be completely transformed. Additionally, the outdoor spaces will be revitalized including beach access and pool upgrades, the addition of a new family pool, updates to both the upper and lower courtyards, the addition of another fire pit off the HH Prime deck and the complete re-invention of the popular poolside/beachside Buoy Bar. All the while, maintaining the lush, sub tropical landscaping and exotic garden atmosphere that has long been the signature of the resort.
Phase one of the renovation is scheduled for completion in May 2013. Phase two will begin late in 2013. Stay tuned for more to follow on those exciting changes.
Arrival Experience – Front Entrance and Lobby (Complete)
Updates to the resort will be evident upon approach. Lush landscaping and enhancements to the porte cochere including cedar shake and wood accents along with pendant lanterns and new lighting sconces will create a more upscale arrival experience.
The lobby / reception area will undergo dramatic changes. Vibrant colored walls juxtaposed against the white on white ceiling along with an opening of the entire space will create comfortable gathering places including lounge style concierge areas for guests to plan a wonderful Hilton Head vacation.
The new arrival experience is completed by the “Logo Shop”, a retail shop specializing in resort and Hilton Head logo apparel along with other beachside resort wearables.
Unique Experience - Palmetto Market Deck and Courtyard (Complete)
The area that ties to the Palmetto Market and newly renovated River Rooms will get a complete makeover. The space promises to become a vibrant, useful and flexible outdoor venue. The existing deck off the Palmetto Market will be extended along the side to add dining seats for the market and provide seating for the courtyard. The Courtyard will become a multi-use function amenity for our leisure dining guests to use as well as offer a unique breakout or reception venue for meetings .Multiple entries into the space, the extended and roofed decking area and the freshly landscaped space will create a fresh, new experience for all guests to enjoy.
Meeting Experience (Complete)
The beautiful and versatile River Rooms (formerly the Promenade) will be refreshed and improved. The extremely popular space with the bright “Carolina” porches, a favorite of meeting planners, will become even more appealing. Updated carpeting, wall covering, lighting and art work will enhance the interior spaces while new outdoor floor covering and special seating will finish the decks overlooking the Palmetto Courtyard.
The primary meeting space including the Palmetto Ballroom/Landing and Terrace (formerly the Commodore Ballroom and Landing) as well as the Sabal and Sago Rooms (formerly Captain’s Galley)will undergo significant renovation. All aspects of this beautiful and functional meeting complex will be updated to match the casual and elegant ambiance of the resort.
Dining Experience - HH Prime Deck and Upper Courtyard (Complete)
HH Prime, one of the finest and most popular restaurants on Hilton Head Island, will have the ever popular dining deck extended down into the Upper Courtyard. A large fire pit will be added creating a new gathering area, shielded by lush landscaping and creating an intimate and private area while remaining accessible to the beautiful courtyard. The popular fire pit currently in the Upper Courtyard will be enhanced by refreshed landscaping and updated paved paths.
Resort Experience – Pool and Buoy Bar Updates 
(Buoy Bar Complete/ New Pool opens May 2013)
Just for starters, the existing pools (family and adult) will be completely renovated and a children’s “Splash Pad” area will be added. As if that weren’t enough, the centerpiece of the pool renovation will include the addition of a new family pool and the complete renovation of the popular Buoy Bar. The new 4200 square feet pool will feature a “walk in” zero entry, kid’s splash features and ledge seating. The new and improved Buoy Bar will be a more integral part of the entire pool deck and, of course, continue to feature tropical cocktails and fresh, delicious sandwiches, salads and light fare.
Spa Experience – Rejuvenate at the Ocean Tides Spa (Complete)
The Ocean Tides Spa is set to undergo a complete transformation giving our world class staff the ability to enhance an already amazing spa experience. The addition of a full service salon designed to handle manicures, pedicures and hair in private session or as a group. The addition of new treatment rooms, newly designed changing rooms and an soothing relaxation area are among the additions and upgrades.
