The Omni San Francisco Hotel offers Hand-Held Virtual Concierge

Omni Hotels has developed a new program that enables each guest to be accompanied by a virtual concierge as they explore the city.  Through an exclusive partnership with adNav, Omni Hotels is the first to introduce the adNav Boomerang, a customizable mobile device that combines the functionality of GPS navigation with travel-related content and services.  The Boomerang will be available at the Omni San Francisco Hotel beginning February 29, 2008. 

The Boomerang enables guests to view city guides using built-in GPS functionality, review a wide variety of restaurant options, learn about the city’s unique points of interest, access the Internet, check weather and flight information and more.  Other features include a currency converter, up-to-date local event listings and language translation.  The capabilities of this device are far more robust than those of a typical navigation system. 

For a nominal daily charge, guests can check-out the Boomerang at the front desk.   Omni Hotels anticipates a brand-wide expansion of the program by year end.
