20 Things You Should Have in 2020

In the spirit of a new year (and a new decade), we’ve put together a list of 20 things that we’re convinced you need to make your life easier, more fun, more relaxing, and if nothing else—a little more interesting.

1. Cord Organizer

Honestly, how is it 2020 and we are just now discovering this. It’s basically a little piece of silicon with a very sticky piece of double-sided tape on the bottom, but wow is it a game changer. Stick this on the corner of your nightstand, and you’ll never have to endure the struggle of trying to find your charging cable on the ground while simultaneously trying not to fall out of bed.

Also they’re eco-friendly, what more could you ask for?

2. The Instant Pot

We’re officially hopping on the bandwagon. Not only is this thing a magical express cooking machine, but it also doubles as a slow cooker. The possibilities are truly endless. Frozen chicken cooks in 8 minutes. No more forgetting to take it out to thaw, because let’s be real, we’ve all been there.

3. Electric Neck and Shoulder Massager

Not all of us have a significant other we can convince to rub our shoulders after a stressful day. This thing is the answer. For only $39.99 your tension, too, can melt away.

4. AirPods Pro

The hype is real. The noise cancellation on these in-ear headphones is insane, and the sound quality is even better. One minute you’re strolling through the grocery store, and the next you’re in the live lounge with your favorite artist or having a conversation with the hosts of a top podcast.

Sorry, what was that? *Points to AirPods*

5. Wake-up Light Alarm Clock

Is anyone actually a morning person? If you are, you’re either lying or you’ve trained yourself to be. Jolting awake to turn off the incessant ringing can’t be the only way. Stop the snoozing and have a subtle and slow rise each morning with this alarm clock that mimics the sun rising.

6. Journal Goal Planner

Enneagram 3’s, this one is for you. Goals can’t help but be crushed with this productivity + positivity road map. You know that thing you’ve been wanting to do but just never quiet followed through with? This makes it possible. Be your best self with the Self Journal.

7. Bombas Socks

Okay, hear us out. We’re firm believers in investing in quality socks. Seems mundane, but once you try them, we think you’ll be a believer too—they aren’t trademarked “The Most Comfortable Sock” for nothing. If fitness is on the resolution list, your next workout is the perfect opportunity to try them out. Best part is that for each pair of socks you purchase, a pair is donated to someone in need.

8. Barefoot Dreams Sweater

Is this expensive sweater really worth it? Aren’t they all the same? Yes, it’s worth it. And no, they’re not. Ultra-soft, ultra-cozy, doesn’t pill and doesn’t stretch. It’s the sweater of our (barefoot) dreams. Bonus: they make it in blanket form.

9. Away Carry-on Bag

If you haven’t heard of Away by now, you might consider making a resolution to get out more in the new year. Their carry-ons are all the rage and for good reason. If you’re looking for a no-fuss, fits-on-the-plane, bang-for-your-buck luggage option, this is your guy. It even has a built-in phone charger AKA no more fighting over those few and far between airport outlets.

10. Ice Face Roller

You don’t need an expensive facial to de-puff and brighten. This product is perfect for nights where you stayed up late binging that new Netflix show, had an extra glass of wine, or just want some extra TLC. It can ease even the worst of Sunday scaries and head colds. Just pop it in the freezer after each use. Do yourself a favor and commit to more self-care in the new year.

11. Hydro Flask

This item is a must. Not only are you helping yourself (hello hydration!), you’re helping the environment. Reduce the amount of single-use plastic entering the environment and keep your drinks colder longer, or hotter longer. That’s the beauty of it, it’s up to you. As Hydro Flask would say, Let’s Go!

12. Aervana Electric Wine Aerator

Move over, decanters. This a self-proclaimed wino’s dream. At the touch of a button, wine is effortlessly dispensed into your glass while aerating for flavor and sealing in freshness. Your favorite wines are now on-tap. Cheers to that.

13. Avocado Slicer

We all know how cumbersome it is to cut an avocado. How do you get out the pit without destroying the surrounding avocado? How do you get those perfect slices? This is how—the OXO Avocado Slicer. For all you avid avocado eaters, trust us when we say you need this in your life.

14. Vitamin-infused Coffee

Daily vitamins and morning caffeine? Sold. It tastes good too. Vitacup has a variety of blends based on what you need day to day, and they’re doing a sale for the new year so it’s the perfect time to stock up!

15. Dyson Hairdryer

$400 for a hairdryer seems steep initially, but the benefits are worthy of the high price tag. The dryer comes with three attachments for different hair types and styles. It dries faster than your typical hair dryer with their special Air Multiplier technology and heat damage is minimized with intelligent heat control. So not only does your hair look better, but you get more time back in your day. It’s a win-win.

16. Ember Mug

Finally, we don’t have to burn our tongues on scalding coffee. Or worse, take a sip of cold brew that wasn’t actually meant to be cold brew. The Ember mug lets you pick the temperature and keeps it there—then senses when to turn off. It’s truly the overachiever of coffee mugs.

17. Nest Candle

They just smell better than other candles. We don’t make the rules. Each scent is specially crafted and designed to captivate the senses and transform your space. Our favorite: The Bamboo Classic.

18. Jackery Bolt Portable Charger

This is not your ordinary portable charger. Cables are built-in. Because how many times have you pulled out the charger just to not have the cable that goes with it?

19. Sous Vide

Leave overdone and under-cooked food in 2019. Attach to your favorite pot or container, set it to the desired time and temperature, and then let it do the rest. Water will begin circulating and cook to perfection every time.

20. Peloton Bike

This is a splurge, but we love it so much that it was necessary to put on the list. Here’s a few of the highlights:

  • The instructors feel like your best friends
  • You get to sweat in the comfort of your own home, not surrounded by strangers
  • Getting to the gym is arguably the hardest part of every work out, so when the gym and your house are one in the same, there’s no excuses
  • You can join live classes and interact with other riders (high five anyone?)
  • It’s strength work + cardio all in one. Plus the playlists and types of classes offered are limitless

Still unsure? Peloton offers a 30-day home trial. Test it out and see for yourself, but warning: you better make room at home because you’re going to want to keep it.
