A new food and beverage trend is shaking up two long-standing après meal traditions – the dessert and the after-dinner drink. For many, a sweet treat after dinner is a beloved ritual that evokes wonderful childhood memories. For others, nothing caps off the night like their favorite liquid libation. Now both traditions are being combined into one savory sensation, a dessert cocktail.
“I see more and more people looking for a great place for a nightcap,” said Omni Hotels & Resorts’ corporate mixologist Kim Haasarud. “But lately, guests also want dessert –something well-crafted, not necessarily over-the-top decadent.” Today’s dessert cocktail has complex flavors and is made with high-end spirits. Try out the sweet drink trend at one of these hot spots within a few miles of Omni hotels across the country.
