What happens when an award-winning golf resort and popular reality TV show team up? They hit a hole-in-one! Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort is excited to announce its partnership with Golf Channel’s reality competition Big Break Florida. The popular reality show took a swing in a new direction by filming season 21 at 54-hole Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort, which will feature three of its world-class championship golf courses, including Oak Marsh, Ocean Links, and Long Point. Not only does the resort have world-class championship golf courses, but Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort is proud of being named a “Top 121 Golf Resort in the World” by Condé Nast Traveler. All three of Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort’s courses are Audubon International Certified Sanctuaries. So not only are we a top golf resort, we are also an eco-friendly one too.
Premiering Monday, February 24th, Big Break Florida is excited to feature an all-female cast competing for more than $175,000 in prizes. Watch weekly as these ladies compete in intense, head-to-head challenges that test their golf skills and mental toughness, including Big Break’s signature challenges like the popular “Glass Break” where contestants hit a low stinger shot through a pane of glass and “Flop Wall,” Big Breaks’ most pressure-packed challenge. Contestants will attempt to hit flop shots over an 8-foot wall onto the green. Intense golf challenges mixed with emotions creates addicting reality TV. Each week a contestant will be sent home and the last woman standing is awarded her Big Break.
These twelve young women are in it to win it, especially when their Big Break includes:
- An exemption to the 2014 Manulife Financial LPGA Classic (June 5-8, 2014).
- $65,000 in cash, including $5,000 courtesy of Dicks Sporting Goods and $10,000 courtesy of Macanudo.
- Full, exempt status to the 2015 Symetra Tour season with all entry fees paid.
- An endorsement contract from Adams Golf, including $10,000 in cash.
- $10,000 in car rental credit courtesy of Avis Car Rental.
- $10,000 in travel credit courtesy of Travelocity.
- A four-day, three-night stay at any Omni golf resort in the United States.
With high-stakes and tough competition, Big Break Florida might have you itching for a little golf challenge of your own, but don’t sweat it, Omni Hotels & Resorts has teed up and created its “Omni Golf Challenge” at its Golf Resorts around the country.
At every course driving range, test your golf swing to hit one shot at a designated three-ring target. Did we mention each ring has monetary value? The outer ring is worth $25, middle $50 and the ring closest to the hole is worth $75. If you succeed, your prize amount won may be redeemed in the form of a credit at the pro shop or applied to a green fee. Are you up for the “Omni Golf Challenge?”
Maybe you want to take it to another level and test your golf skills at Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort. In celebration of the series, Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort has announced the “Big Break Getaway” package, inspired by the reality show. Packages starting at $389 are available now through February 2015. Golf enthusiasts can play like the contestants of Big Break in a less competitive atmosphere by enjoying luxurious oceanfront accommodation, including:
- Unlimited golf on Ocean Links and Oak Marsh
- Golf skill challenges as seen on Big Break Florida
- Free club rentals
- Complimentary signature cocktail
