JAMES D. CALDWELL — President, TRT Holdings, Inc., Chief Executive Officer, Omni Hotels

Jim Caldwell is president of TRT Holdings, Inc., a privately owned, diversified holding company located in Dallas, Texas. Assets include the luxury hotel brand Omni Hotels & Resorts, Gold’s Gym International, Tana Exploration, Waldo’s Dollar Mart in Mexico and numerous investments in public companies and various real estate ventures. Caldwell also serves as chief executive officer of Omni Hotels & Resorts.


Since his appointment as president in July 2004, Mike Deitemeyer has established the company as a leading hotel brand known for delivering superior quality, award-winning service and exceptional guest experiences. He is responsible for establishing the vision for the company and ensuring that all areas are effectively driving together toward those goals.

Under his leadership, Omni Hotels & Resorts has been ranked “Highest in Guest Satisfaction Among Upscale Hotel Chains” in the J.D. Power and Associates Hotel Guest Satisfaction StudySM two of the last five years. The brand has also been noted as a top luxury brand by Consumer Reports and Entrepreneur magazine during his tenure.

He also serves on the board of directors for the Global Hotel Alliance and Global Hotel Network Advisory Board.

MIKE GARCIA — Chief Development Officer
Mike Garcia, a 20-year-plus veteran of Omni Hotels & Resorts, currently serves as Chief Development Officer, where he is responsible for spearheading Omni’s robust expansion plans and the development of new hotels and resorts.

Previously, Garcia served as Controller of Corporate Accounting from 1996 – 2004 and then as Chief Financial Officer from 2004 – 2016, overseeing accounting and reporting, treasury, purchasing, risk management and capital project accounting. In 2009, he was given the added responsibilities of Senior Vice President, Acquisitions and Development. In 2013 under his leadership, the company experienced unprecedented growth with the acquisition of six iconic resorts: Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa, The Omni Grove Park Inn, The Omni Homestead Resort, Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia, and Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa. He is also leading Omni’s impressive growth within the convention center hotel sphere with the addition of the Fort Worth, Dallas, Nashville and Louisville hotels.

He also serves on the Advisory Council to the Dean of the University of Texas at San Antonio College of Business.
JOY ROTHSCHILD — Chief Human Resources Officer

Joy Rothschild, a 35-year associate who started in Omni's Management Development Program, rejoined Omni Hotels & Resorts as senior vice president of human resources in January 1998. In 2002, the department was recast as Associate Services to formalize the company’s service commitment to the people who make Omni Hotels a success. 

Rothschild serves on the Advisory Board for School of Hospitality Administration at Boston University, Hospitality Board of Governors for College of Merchandising, Hospitality and Tourism, University of North Texas, and American Hotel & Lodging Association’s Labor and Human Resources committees.

Rothschild is a Hotel Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) GoldenBell Winner and a 1992 recipient of Omni Hotels & Resorts’ President’s Award for developing the Omni Service Champion employee recognition program and the Power of One® employee empowerment program.

MICHAEL G. SMITH — Senior Vice President and General Counsel

Michael Smith joined Omni Hotels & Resorts in 1996 and has served as general counsel since 1998. Smith manages all legal matters, including the planning, structuring and negotiation of acquisitions and joint ventures. He also coordinates the company’s financial and investment transactions.

PETER STREBEL — Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President, Sales

Peter Strebel, a 25-year-plus veteran of the hospitality industry, is chief marketing officer and senior vice president of sales where he is responsible for creating and driving innovative branding, communications, marketing and business development strategies to increase awareness, capture market share and build revenue for the luxury hotel brand. As part of the company’s multichannel marketing operations, Strebel stewards its centers of excellence including revenue management, global sales, e-commerce, customer loyalty, reservations and call center, branding, advertising, communications, web and digital marketing and market research.

Previously, Strebel was the senior vice president of operations for Omni and oversaw the development of brand-wide property standards, guest rooms and other operational areas for the luxury hotel brand’s growing convention collection and resort portfolio. A long-term Omni veteran, Strebel rejoined Omni in 2009 as area managing director and general manager of the company’s flagship property in midtown Manhattan, the award-winning Omni Berkshire Place. During his previous tenure at Omni, he had a successful 10-year career in sales and marketing positions of increasing responsibility, ultimately leading to his appointment as vice president of sales and marketing.

In between his time with Omni, Strebel served as executive vice president and chief marketing officer for the Wyndham Hotel Group and was promoted to president of the company before returning to Omni. Strebel serves on the board of directors for the Global Hotel Alliance.

STEPHEN ROSENSTOCK — Executive Vice President of Operations

Stephen Rosenstock is the executive vice president of operations responsible for brand development, guest rooms, food and beverage, and other operational areas. He oversees all Omni properties across North America and plays a key role in the brand’s expansion.

Rosenstock has been instrumental in establishing Omni as a leading luxury hotel brand known for its superior quality, exceptional guest experiences and award-winning service. He is responsible for creating incremental revenue opportunities and providing value-added services to Omni’s customers. He oversees new construction, as well as retail concepts, design and operating procedures. His creativity and design sensibilities can been felt throughout the brand in properties including Fort Worth, Dallas, Nashville, and San Diego. He also created Omni’s Morsel’s coffee shop and Mokara spas brands.

Rosenstock joined Omni Hotels & Resorts in 1975 as convention coordinator of the Omni International in Norfolk, V.A. and since then has served other Omni properties in various capacities. Rosenstock was recognized in 1995 as Omni Hotels & Resorts' general manager of the year and in 1994 received Omni Hotels & Resorts' marketing achievement award. Rosenstock is a graduate of Virginia Tech and State University.
