Peter Strebel — President

Peter Strebel, a 30-year-plus veteran of the hospitality industry, is president of Omni Hotels & Resorts where he continues to elevate the vision of Omni while insuring all operational areas within the company align with the long-term goals and objectives for the brand. He works with teams to continue to enhance the existing high-level of guest service as well as oversee the growth and expansion plans the brand has in the pipeline.

The company’s former chief marketing officer and senior vice president of sales, Strebel was responsible for creating and driving innovative branding, communications, marketing and business development strategies to increase awareness, capture market share and build revenue for the luxury hotel brand.

Strebel also formerly served as senior vice president of operations for the company where he oversaw the development of brand-wide property standards, guest rooms and other operational areas for the luxury hotel brand’s growing convention collection and resort portfolio. A long-term Omni veteran, Strebel rejoined Omni in 2009 as area managing director and general manager of the company’s flagship property in midtown Manhattan, the award-winning Omni Berkshire Place. During his previous tenure at Omni, he had a successful 10-year career in sales and marketing positions of increasing responsibility, ultimately leading to his appointment as vice president of sales and marketing.

In between his time with Omni, Strebel served as executive vice president and chief marketing officer for the Wyndham Hotel Group and was promoted to president of the company before returning to Omni. Strebel serves on the board of directors for the Global Hotel Alliance.

Joy Rothschild — Chief Human Resources Officer

Joy Rothschild, a tenured associate who started in Omni's Management Development Program, rejoined Omni Hotels & Resorts as chief human resources officer in January 1998. In 2002, the department was recast as Associate Services to formalize the company’s service commitment to the people who make Omni Hotels a success.

Rothschild serves as an at-large member on the Advisory Board for the University of New Hampshire, the Hospitality Board of Governors for the College of Merchandising, Hospitality and Tourism at the University of North Texas, and the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s Labor and Human Resources committees.

Rothschild is a Hotel Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) GoldenBell Winner and a 1992 recipient of Omni Hotels & Resorts’ President’s Award for developing the Omni Service Champion employee recognition program and the Power of One® employee empowerment program.

Kurt Alexander — Chief Financial Officer

Kurt Alexander is the chief financial officer for Omni Hotels & Resorts. In this role, Alexander works with all disciplines of the company to address strategic priorities, as well as oversees corporate accounting, capital finance, risk management, property tax and financial reporting.

Alexander joined the Omni family in July 2014 and has since held a number of positions including vice president of finance, director of strategic planning & asset management and director of financial planning & risk management.

Alexander attended Duke University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics. He also received a master’s degree in accounting from The University of Virginia and an MBA from Northwestern University.

Ken Barnes — Chief Information Officer

Ken Barnes is the chief information officer for Omni Hotels & Resorts, responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of all information technology (IT). He helps drive Omni’s business objectives by providing the enterprise-wide IT vision and leadership for operating a reliable and stable infrastructure, fostering innovation and leading the deployment and management of current and emerging technology products, services and systems across the organization.

Barnes joined Omni in 2016 and has since become a proven leader who ensures the IT strategy meets business objectives and consistently works to exceed guests’ expectations. Prior to Omni, Barnes served as senior vice president of global service at GuestTek Interactive in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where he was responsible for managing technology service and support for the company. During this tenure, his team exceeded annual recurring revenue targets by more than 12 percent. Prior to this, Barnes worked for White Lodging Services for two decades, most recently serving as vice president of information technology. In this role he was responsible for the company’s IT operations as well as capital budgets for more than 170 hotels.

Barnes earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University. He is active in various industry groups including Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG) and Hospitality Association | Financial & Tech Professionals (HFTP).

Matthew Adams — Executive Vice President, Operations

Matthew Adams is the executive vice president of operations responsible for brand development, food and beverage, and other operational areas including retail and procurement. He oversees all Omni properties across North America and plays a key role in the brand’s strategic expansion plans.

Prior to joining Omni, Adams served a career-long tenure at Hyatt Hotels where he climbed the ranks of operational roles from post-graduate trainee to general manager before being elevated to an area vice president position. Continuously taking on larger assignments, Adams was highly effective at addressing underperforming regions, including overseeing all of Hyatt’s properties in France after the portfolio was acquired. He also ran a significant portion of Hyatt’s portfolio where he was responsible for all its assets in New York City, including the successful launch of two Andaz hotels in the city and the massive renovation of the Grand Hyatt at Grand Central Station. A significant portion of his time with Hyatt was spent leading major global initiatives around change and innovation. His focus on how to improve brand performance through greater customer insights has led to the design of new programs and processes to improve service delivery around those needs.

Adams holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from California State University and also studied at the Hasso Plattner School of Design Thinking at Stanford University.

Dan Surette — Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Dan Surette is senior vice president of sales and marketing at Omni Hotels & Resorts where he leads the charge on the brand’s sales and marketing strategy. In his newly appointed role, Surette is responsible for creating and driving innovative sales, branding, communications, marketing and business development strategies to increase awareness, capture market share and build revenue for the brand. He oversees the larger sales and marketing division which includes global sales, customer loyalty, reservations and call center, marketing and communications.

Surette joined Omni in August 2017 as vice president of sales where he overhauled Omni’s sales compensation model, developed a new group marketing campaign and inspired sales teams through promotional and recognition programs. With more than 30 years of experience in the industry and 20 years of senior-level sales leadership experience, Surette worked at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. for more than 15 years, most recently as vice president of North American sales and field marketing. Surette previously worked with Hyatt Hotels Corporation for more than a decade, serving in various sales and marketing roles of increasing responsibility.

Surette attended Johnson & Wales University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management. He has been a member of several leading professional organizations over the years including Meeting Professionals International (MPI), Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and Hotel Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI).

Andrew Rubinacci — Senior Vice President,Revenue Management and Global Distribution

Andrew Rubinacci is the senior vice president of revenue management and global distribution, leading Omni’s brand revenue initiatives and marketing distribution strategies.

Rubinacci joined the Omni team in 2018 and is a seasoned hospitality veteran with more than 25 years of experience spanning sales, revenue management, guest services, hotel operations and e-commerce. Prior to joining Omni, Rubinacci served as senior vice president of distribution and global revenue management for Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG). In this role, he led an integrated distribution and revenue management strategy team, including global revenue management operations, third party and global distribution systems that impacted thousands of hotels.

Rubinacci began his career with IHG as a management trainee with Holiday Inn and went on to serve in management roles at multiple properties, including general manager, before moving into corporate roles in revenue management, e-commerce and distribution. In addition to IHG, Rubinacci has worked for Bristol Hotels & Resorts and MeriStar Hotels & Resorts.

Rubinacci earned two bachelor’s degrees in business administration, majoring in marketing and hospitality administration from Florida State University. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Dedman School of Hospitality at the esteemed university.
