Virtual Learning Station at Omni Amelia Island Resort

Introducing Omni Edu-cations! Families participating in virtual school and homeschooling can now enjoy a break from their daily routine and take their education on the road with a vacation at Omni Amelia Island Resort.

Virtual Learning Stations

Omni Amelia Island Resort is offering learning stations in Camp Amelia where school-aged children can set-up their desks for the day. Set in a quiet and private environment, the learning stations are each set for up to two students (must be traveling together) and are equipped with school supplies, hand sanitizer and snacks. High speed Wi-Fi is also available at no additional cost.

Daily: 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Cost: $60 per station, per day (up to two children)

This is not a drop-off supervised activity. An adult must be present with their children at all times. A Camp Amelia attendant will be available at check-in to set-up and assign stations and provide age appropriate snacks.

Virtual Learning Stations are only available to registered guests and club members.

Field Trip Passport

Once your student has completed their school assignments for the day, take advantage of highly educational activities led by naturalists at Omni Amelia Island Resort. Families can pick up a Field Trip Passport at the Nature Center and upon completing the activities listed in the passport they will earn a $10 credit towards a book purchase at the Nature Center. Activities include (but not limited to):

Discovery Series (child focused):

  • Shark Tooth Discovery – Learn about different sharks while combing the beach for your own sharks’ teeth. Then craft your very own necklace to take home. Join us for this hour-long program that starts out at the Nature Center, where you will learn all about why sharks are such incredible animals! A naturalist will guide you through the long history of this species, including their anatomy, behaviors, adaptations, and the threats that they face. Participants will also create their very own shark tooth necklace before heading over to the beach with their guide for a hands-on demonstration of how to find shark’s teeth on the beach. Ages 4 and up. $25/per child.
  • Fishing 101 – Enjoy a leisurely hour of freshwater fishing on the banks of Aury Island. Learn how to bait a hook, cast a line, and remove a fish from the hook during this one-hour introductory level class. Your guide will take you to one of our freshwater ponds on property to teach you all the skills necessary to be a successful angler. Topics will include a variety of fish species, fish behavior and anatomy, and techniques of successful catch and release fishing. All tackle and bait are provided. Ages 8 and up. $25/per child.

Ecology Series (advanced):

  • Ecology of Amelia Island – On this island hopper tour, participants will learn the dynamics of the barrier island ecosystem. A naturalist will dive into how the beach, the maritime forest, and the marsh are all connected. Plant and animal species will be identified and discussed in detail. As you explore the property, you’ll learn about a variety of conservation topics, the importance of barrier islands in relation to storm systems, and what makes this area unique.  Binoculars and field guides will be provided for this 90-minute tour. $35/person
