CHEF MATTHEW LAROSE
Growing up in an Italian-American family that owned a food truck and catering business in Hudson Valley, food played an important and constant role in Chef Matthew LaRose’s childhood years.
Chef LaRose helped with the family business throughout his younger years. However, after high school he decided to set a path towards Business and Marketing, and attended a small university near Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. It was here while working in a local Italian restaurant that Chef LaRose truly found his passion for food, and with the support of family and friends decided to take the next steps toward accomplishing his culinary goals.
After learning of an opportunity in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, Chef LaRose made the trek to the Great North Woods and joined the Omni Family. Working under the guidance of Chef Edward Swetz, Chef LaRose had the opportunity to begin his professional culinary career in the Four Diamond Dining Room at the majestic and highly acclaimed Omni Mount Washington Resort. Working his way through the ranks at the resort for almost five years, Chef LaRose held the positions of Executive Chef of the Bretton Arms Inn and Chef de Cuisine of the Resort’s Culinary Operations.
In the fall of 2013, Chef LaRose joined the culinary team at the Omni Charlotte Hotel as Executive Sous Chef. Now as the Executive Chef, Chef Matthew and his culinary team work passionately to promote the hotel’s restaurant concepts, as well as create relatable, imaginative and bold banquet presentations.
