Renowned wine experts Bruce Zoecklein and Todd Kliman, author of The Wild Vine: A Forgotten Grape and the Untold Story of American Wine, present the history of the Norton grape—also known as Virginia’s grape—and lead a tasting of the four finalists of The Homestead Norton Cup Challenge.

Join four of the women leading the way in Virginia Wine Country for this exclusive opportunity to taste some of Virginia’s top sparkling wines, just in time for the holidays…every day!

Sparkling wines are typically thought of as special-occasion treats, but – as you’ll hear during this happy and humorous session – that’s all wrong. Sparkling wine is not just for parties and wedding toasts; it can be your go-to wine anytime. It pairs beautifully with almost everything, from salty chips to velvety bisque to rich chocolate, and it can be light enough for a summer picnic or rich and savory for winter hibernation.

Led by Virginia wine expert and boutique winemaker Joy Ting, the panel will explore the role women have played in making Virginia one of the country’s top wine regions, how sparkling wine is an art form separate from still wine, and how sparkling wines are made in Virginia.
