  • Gardens of the Way of the Cross – St. Joseph's Oratory: The outdoor Garden of the Way of the Cross is one of Saint Joseph’s Oratory’s best kept secrets. Located to the east of the basilica, the garden shelters a magnificent Way of the Cross made of towering sculptures, which unfold amidst an artfully landscaped terrain. It is an exceptional space to meditate in communion with nature.

  • Aura – A Luminous Experience in the Heart of Notre Dame Basilica: Light unveils the richness of the Notre Dame Basilica’s heritage and invites us to celebrate its beauty. The experience begins with a path of lights, revealing the Basilica’s wealth of exquisite works. A progressive immersion into a sonically and visually captivating universe guides visitors to the heart of Notre Dame. Then, light, orchestral music and grandiose architecture combine to create a unique, three-act multimedia spectacle.

  • Fleuve-Montagne Promenade: The 3.8 km (2.6 mile) urban trail connects the St Lawrence River to the foot of Mont-Royal showcasing Montréal’s culture, history, heritage and landscapes.

  • La Grande Roue (The Observation Wheel): At 60 meters in height (20 stories high) this new instillation will offer year round panoramic views of the city and surrounding areas.

  • Lighting of the Jacques Cartier Bridge: The Jacques Cartier Bridge comes to life nightly capturing the pulse of Montréal in real time, reflecting its energy, social media conversations and mood (#illuminationMtl). The luminous movements are a tribute to the days hottest media topics.

  • Cité Mémoire, Montreal en History: Montreal’s unique evolution is brought to life through a host of video’s projected on walls and buildings at dusk.
  • Just for Laughs | July 11 – 29: every summer, the largest comedy festival in the world tickles the city into a laughing frenzy with galas, street art, theatre productions and stand-up performances. Hosting 1,700 artists from 19 countries as well as over 2 million festival-goers, Just For Laughs offers over 1,000 performances, including free outdoor shows.

  • Osheaga | August 3 – 5: this festival is designed to showcase local and national emerging talents in music and visual arts alongside some of the biggest names in the industry.

  • IleSoniq | August 10 – 11: îleSoniq Montréal features some of the most popular artists from the electronic, dance and hip-hop scene along with entertaining activities and an urban art area.

  • Explosion 67 | Now – September 2: Expo 67 had a huge impact on Montrealers. Young and old alike embraced this seminal event and stepped into the modern world, a time filled with memorable rock concerts and life-changing encounters. Arranged in evocative spaces, this iconic exhibition gives us a chance to see how this world fair was the tipping point for Québec society and a generation that passionately embraced a brand-new era.

  • Piknic Electronik | Now – September 30: this outdoor event offers visitors a chance to enjoy good weather, an incomparable view of Montréal and quality electronic music every Sunday during the summer. The eclectic programming is perfect for both the initiated and newcomers to the genre.

  • TamTams du Mont-Royal | Now – September 30: this free festival takes place on Sundays in Mount Royal Park. Enjoy a colourful gathering of drummers, dancers, vendors and their admiring audiences.

  • Shalom Montreal | Now – November 11: The McCord Museum celebrates our past and present life in Montréal. Full of personal reminiscences and videos and photos, the exhibition features five different thematic zones: Living Together, Caring Together, Struggling Together, Doing Business Together, Creating Together.
