Day One

Start your morning right with breakfast at a nearby local favorite. If you’re craving something different, Casa Lever offers a fabulous Milanese-inspired breakfast selection where guests can dine surrounded by one of the world's largest collections of original Andy Warhol paintings, courtesy of the Lever House Art Collection. For a fresh take on “haute Greek food” try the welcoming, non-tipping restaurant, Nerai, just a block and half away.

Perhaps one of the best ways to begin your day is a trip to Central Park for a walk, run or sightseeing. The southeast entrance of the park is located a short 8-minute walk down 5th Avenue from the Omni Berkshire Place. If you’re a runner, stop by the concierge desk for a running map before heading out. Other options inside the park include the Central Park Zoo, beautiful gardens and sculptures, cycling and carriage rides, and ice skating rinks in the winter.

After burning some calories and enjoying the sites in Central Park, it’s time to refuel with lunch and experience some of the best street food in the city. At The Halal Guys food cart, you’ll find great gyros and falafel. Don’t let the long lines dissuade you—it’s notably worth the wait. The Halal Guys food carts are all over NYC but you’ll find the closest one to the Omni Berkshire Place—less than half a mile away—at West 53 St. and Sixth Avenue. Or try Uncle Gussy’s Greek food truck on Park Ave. at 51st. This family-run business serves up traditional Greek food with a specialty tzatziki sauce that leaves customers coming back for more.

Next, choose the perfect museum for an afternoon visit. The Museum of Modern Art—better known as MoMA— is a popular choice located just two blocks from the Omni Berkshire Place and features a world-renowned collection of modern and contemporary art. Depending on the interests of those in your party, it’s far from the only nearby option. Grab the updated museum highlights information from the concierge desk for all the latest exhibits and decide which of the 32 museums in Manhattan (from the Guggenheim Museum and the American Museum of Natural History, to the International Center of Photography and the Children’s Museum of Manhattan) you want to visit.

Enjoy dinner at one of the best steak houses in a city of great steak houses. Bob’s Steak & Chop House, the signature restaurant at Omni Berkshire Place, features large cuts of steak, chops and seafood served alongside big drinks and fine wines. After your meal, top the evening off with another dash of culture—this time featuring some live music. Legendary Irish pub Paddy Reilly’s Music Bar is noted for its creative and convivial atmosphere where you can hear talented musicians and enjoy “a proper pint.” If you’re more in the mood for a New York-style lounge atmosphere, try a specialty cocktail at the sophisticated 48 Lounge, or enjoy a fine cigar and a single malt scotch at The Carnegie Club, which is carved out of the back of Carnegie Hall and features an extensive drink and cigar menu.

Day Two

After your busy first day in New York City, ask the concierge team to perfectly customize an in-room breakfast experience, from romantic to family-style. Then, head over to Rockefeller Plaza. Located just three blocks from Omni Berkshire Place, it is home to The Tour at NBC Studios. Known as the first studio tour in television, it’s now more interactive than ever. Tour guests can go behind the scenes of shows like “Saturday Night Live,” “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and more. Get your tickets in advance because it does sell out. This fun experience for the entire family takes just over an hour, but afterward you can enjoy Rockefeller Center, which features more than 100 shops, dining opportunities, an observation deck with spectacular views of Manhattan, plus ice skating in the winter.

Rockefeller Center

For lunch, head the few short blocks back to the Omni Berkshire Place, or try nearby Fresco by Scotto. It is owned by the Scotto family, who are often featured cooking up their beloved Italian food on NBC’s “Today Show.” After lunch, pamper yourself with a personalized in-room hair or makeup service from Omni’s partner, NOMI Beauty. Your NOMI stylist will cater to your style and only uses the finest products in the industry.

No trip to New York City would be complete without taking advantage of some of the best shopping in the world. Whether you only have an hour to spare or a full day, you’ll find plenty to browse and buy, all within walking distance of Omni Berkshire Place, conveniently located between Madison and Fifth avenues. Within five blocks you’ll find everything from Versace, Rolex and Gucci, to American Girl Place, the Disney Store and the LEGO Store. The concierge desk has shopping maps available and can also arrange private shopping experiences.

Bloomingdale's Flagship Store

Taking in a Broadway show during your trip is a must, but the first order of the evening should be some delicious cuisine. Dine at the hotel, or try the iconic 21 Club speakeasy. One of America’s most famous speakeasies from the Prohibition Era, this reinvented restaurant is an intrinsic part of the fabric of New York.

Next, go to the Broadway Theater District and Times Square, just a few blocks from the Omni Berkshire Place. Get tickets in advance for the most popular shows or get same-day tickets at the TKTS Discount Booth in Times Square. You can also avoid the lines by asking the concierge team to acquire seats for you and deliver the tickets to you at your convenience.

After enjoying the performance of your choice, end the evening with nightcap at Bob’s Bar. Try a classic like the Mulled Manhattan or a signature favorite like The Dirty Bob, a Ketel One martini with house-stuffed blue cheese olives and olive brine.

If you have more time...

A destination to consider is Wave Hill located in the Bronx, about a 30-minute drive, or a little longer by subway. This 28-acre public garden and cultural center features formal gardens, a greenhouse, nature trails and sweeping views of the Hudson River and Palisades.

Everyone knows of the popular Broadway hit “Hamilton,” but you can also visit the country home that Alexander Hamilton built on his Harlem estate. The Hamilton Grange has been relocated to St. Nicholas Park in the Hamilton Heights Historic District. Admission is free.
