Commonly asked questions about our wedding services

Q. Will we get a room at the hotel on our wedding night?
A. Couples selecting one of our wedding packages and meeting the required food and beverage minimum requirements will receive a complimentary room on the night of their wedding.

Q. Are room blocks available for my guests at a discounted rate?

A. A discounted room rate is available for your wedding guests based on availability at the time requested.

Q. Can I bring my own decorations?

A. Omni Richmond Hotel can provide decorations as listed as a part of our wedding packages or you may bring your own. Talk with our wedding specialist about local florists and rental companies for any of your special requests.

Q. Do you provide audio/visual equipment?
A. State-of-the-art audio/visual services are provided in-house by AVT Event Technologies and quotes can be provided upon your request.

Q. When do I need to notify the hotel with the number of guests attending, when do menus need to be in place?
A. We will need an estimated head count 10 business days and a final guarantee count three business days prior to your event. Menu selections should be in place 30 days prior to the event, and any menu choices must be indicated on your RSVP cards.

Q. Can we bring our own food or alcohol?

A. Traditionally, outside food and beverage is not permitted. However, should you have questions about ethnic or cultural cuisine provided by an outside caterer for your event, please ask our wedding specialist. A bakery may provide your wedding cake for you and all attempts will be made to assist you with any specialty food or dietary needs.

Q. What are the additional charges?

A. All food and beverage fees are subject to a 22 percent service charge, as well as an 12.8 percent Virginia State Sales and Richmond Meal Tax. A $75 bar setup fee applies per bar as needed, subject to 5 percent sales tax. If food and beverage minimums are not met, a room rental charge will apply and is subject to 5 percent sales tax.

Q. Can we make changes to the package menu selections?
A. Our menus are customizable and we are happy to help you create a menu to accompany the day and event of your dreams. Our executive chef is delighted to work with your ideas to meet the tastes of you and your guests.
