MEET OUR CHEF AT OMNI SAN ANTONIO HOTEL AT THE COLONNADE
Born and raised in San Antonio, Chef Soto began his career working in local restaurants at a young age. "I was fascinated by the creative environment and fast-paced lifestyle," Soto remembers. His destiny seemed written in the stars, and he hoped to follow in his father's footsteps as a professional hotel chef. However, his priority was to remain loyal to his hometown flavor, "I maintained a close connection with my San Antonio/Latin roots, which I like to showcase in my flavorful creations and cooking style."
Staying true to his style of cooking has served Chef Soto well in the culinary world. He's been recognized as a top 30 Chef in San Antonio Cuisine and his expertise has been featured on SA Living and Good Morning San Antonio.
Chef Soto joined Omni San Antonio Hotel at the Colonnade in March of 1998 and worked his way to Executive Chef under the guidance of some of Omni's finest chefs. Soto feels his culinary success is due to, "my passion for culinary arts and my desire to succeed in the local market," which has accounted in numerous accolades in local culinary competitions and has garnered Chef Soto recognition among his peers.
In his spare time, Chef Soto enjoys giving instructional assistance and culinary courses at local schools and markets.
