Japanese Tea Garden

The San Antonio Japanese Tea Garden has its origin as a rock quarry that was vital to the development of the cement business in the city. In 1918, the the quarry was transformed into the garden. Over the years, the garden has been reimagined and its revitalization continues to this day. The garden features shaded walkways, stone bridges, a 60-foot waterfall and multiple Koi ponds. The waterfall and multiple other areas are available for weddings, luncheons and other events. Guests can dine at the Jingu House Cafe when they need a break from exploring the garden. It serves a variety of Asian dishes, tea and other typical cafe fare. The Japanese Tea Garden is the perfect place to visit when you need a break from the hustle of Downtown San Antonio.
