FOOD & BEVERAGE
WE ACTIVELY:

  • Source food and beverage options on a local level as often as possible allowing us to reduce the carbon footprint of culinary options we offer
  • Offer a “farm-to-table” approach with the option of requesting organic produce
  • Reduce the use of plastic water bottles for meetings and events
  • Work with our group clients and local organizations to arrange for donation of leftover and excess food items in a safe manner to local food banks and shelters

ENERGY
WE ACTIVELY:

  • Explore the use of hybrid vehicles for all new purchases and/or leases
  • Utilize more energy efficient laundry processes
  • Utilize LED light bulbs in all new build and renovated hotels while methodologically converting all other hotels to more energy efficient lighting options
  • Remind associates to turn off unused lights and reduce HVAC usage
  • Install energy efficient systems in all new buildings
  • Encourage staff to use mass transportation and/or carpooling options

RECYCLING
WE ACTIVELY:

  • Provide bulk shower dispensers to reduce single use plastics
  • Print on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified or recycled
    paper whenever possible and aim to reduce the use of paper
    within our organization
  • Recycle plastic, glass, paper and cardboard in all communities where recycling is readily available
  • Provide recycling

AIR QUALITY
WE ACTIVELY:

  • Work with vendors and partners to reduce our carbon footprint for procurement activities
  • Create green roofs
  • Plant trees for major milestones and celebrations

CHEMICALS
WE ACTIVELY:

  • Utilize more ecologically-friendly laundry processes
  • Create natural herb gardens with native plants

WATER
WE ACTIVELY:

  • Utilize more efficient laundry services
  • Reduce laundry services by changing bed linens and towels every three days, unless requested otherwise. Towels that are hung will not be replaced
  • Consider the most efficient systems in all new build and renovated hotels and resorts
