THE OMNI MOUNT WASHINGTON RESORT NAMES BARRY SONDERN AND LARRY MAGOR TO KEY MANAGEMENT POSITIONS

BRETTON WOODS, NH (November 9, 2009) -- The Omni Mount Washington Resort

 are pleased to announce the appointments of Larry Magor and Barry Sondern to the positions of Managing Director and Resort General Manager, respectively. As the newest members of the resort’s award-wining team, Magor and Sondern bring almost 50 years of combined experience in the hospitality industry to the New England icon.

Well-versed in luxury hotels and resort as a result of managing some of the most prestigious destinations in the U.S. and the Caribbean, Magor will oversee the Omni Mount Washington Resort’s overall growth and development efforts. Most recently, Magor served as Managing Director of the Wyndham Bermuda Resort & Spa and Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa in St. Thomas. Some of his early career highlights include key positions at the Lafayette Suisse Hotel in Boston, The Breakers in Palm Beach, The Lodge & Beach Club at Ponte Vedra Beach and the San Jose Country Club. Magor’s food and beverage background also includes working with Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Drew Nierpont and Michel Richard of Citronelle. In addition, Larry has served on numerous boards, including the Bermuda and U.S. Virgin Islands Hotel Associations.

Sondern comes to the Omni Mount Washington Resort as a seasoned member of the Omni Hotels management team. Upon joining the company in 1992 at the Omni Austin Hotel, he quickly rose through the ranks as Director of Food & Beverage at the Omni Corpus Christi Hotel, Omni William Penn Hotel, and finally, the Omni Hotel at CNN Center, where he was promoted to Director of Rooms. In 2008, Sondern was promoted to Hotel Manager at the Watermark Hotel & Spa. Prior to joining Omni, he held food and beverage roles at esteemed properties in San Francisco and Dallas. Sondern will oversee day-to-day activities at the resort, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for guests.
