Boston Luxury Hotel to Celebrate Earth Day with Special “100-Mile Menu”

Boston (April 1, 2011) – The historic Omni Parker House , the longest continuously operating hotel in America, has achieved a Three Green Key rating through the Green Key Eco-Rating Program , the leading green hotel certification program in the Americas. A hotel with a Three Green Key rating is recognized for taking significant steps to protect the environment and implement strong environmental programs, management practices, training programs and engineering solutions that benefit the environment and local community.

To celebrate its Green Key status, the Omni Parker House will offer a special Earth Day menu on April 22. Sourced from within a 100-mile radius of Boston, this special “100 Mile-Menu” will celebrate local flavors and fare while supporting sustainable agriculture. Boston residents and guests alike are invited to enjoy a candlelight 100-mile experience in Parker’s Restaurant  at the hotel that features the freshest local produce the region has to offer. Most recently, the hotel recognized Earth Hour on March 26, dimming lights from 8:30-9:30 p.m. as part of the largest global climate change movement.
