Omni amelia island plantation grand re-opening gala benefits the st. vincent's healthcare foundation

AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. (May 10, 2013) – In tandem with the celebration of its extensive $85 million Re-Imagination, Omni Amelia Island Plantation hosted an invitation-only Grand Re-Opening Gala last night (Thursday, May 9), with proceeds benefitting the St. Vincent’s HealthCare Foundation. During the gala, the award-winning destination resort showcased recent renovations and details of its newly formed partnership with St. Vincent’s HealthCare Foundation and the Mobile Health Outreach Ministry, which promotes leadership within the community and communal philanthropy, a core focus of the resort.

"The future is exciting for this landmark location and we are confident that our local enthusiasts, loyal guests and future visitors will enjoy the Re-Imagined experience and personalized services of Omni Amelia Island Planation," said General Manager Paul Eckert. "The resort is the ideal destination for work, family and play, and with our partnership with the St. Vincent HealthCare Foundation, we now have an opportunity to give back to our local community in a Re-Imagined way."

To commemorate the re-opening, local dignitaries and guests enjoyed a cocktail reception in the well-manicured Magnolia Garden, an extended event space added to the resort grounds during the Re-Imagination. Attendees mingled among executives and Amelia Island locals, and enjoyed speeches by General Manager, Paul Eckert; Managing Director, Tim Digby; Jane Lanier, president of St. Vincent’s HealthCare Foundation and Senator Aaron Bean. Preceding the executive speeches, dinner prepared by Executive Chef Daven Wardynski was served in the new Magnolia Ballroom.

World-renowned artist, entertainer and humanitarian, Michael Israel also attended the event, where he demonstrated his leadership in new art renaissance, performed on stage and painted five breathtaking pieces for an auction benefitting St. Vincent’s HealthCare Foundation, totaling a donation of more than $100,000.

"The funds raised for our Foundation help continue to treat those less fortunate, making a difference for children and their families," said Jane R. Lanier, CFRE, President & System Chief Development Officer, St. Vincent’s Foundation.

Completed March 5, 2013, the Re-Imagined resort presents an entirely new arrival sequence, allowing guests to interact with the water immediately upon setting foot in the lobby. With an elevated porte cochere and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking fire and water features, and – of course – the Atlantic Ocean, the inviting space welcomes guests to an unparalleled beach vacation. The lobby is located in the new Oceanside wing featuring 155 new rooms, while the rejuvenated Sunrise wing features 249 rooms, totaling 404 oceanfront escapes. Of the 27 suites, most notable are the Infiniti Suites, which occupy the farthest edge of Oceanside and boast wrap-around porches allowing for miles of endless Atlantic coastline views.
