5-4-2015 4-05-56 PM Omni Hotels & Resorts’ love affair with “nature’s sweetener” began long before Firmenich named it 2015 Flavor of the Year. For years, five Omni properties have been harvesting their own beehives, and using honey in everything from culinary dishes to spa treatments. Fast forward to 2015 and a natural buzz-worthy collaboration was developed with the National Honey Board (NHB) to create custom-curated menu specialties that reflect the sweet seasonal flavor of summer. Omni Mixologist Kim Haasarud (author and James Beard honored-mixologist) today exhibits her expertise and creativity with an array of cocktails with honey that are featured in this year’s Art of Water poolside menu.

Honey Blossom Margarita

2 oz Herradura Reposado tequila 1 oz lime juice 1 oz orange blossom honey water * Splash of grapefruit juice GARNISH: orange slice + lime wheel In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into iced plastic cup. Garnish

Honey Melon Mojito

Cocktails with Honey - Honey Melon Mojito 1.5 oz Cruzan Light rum 1 oz lime juice 0.5 oz clover honey water * 0.5 oz Finest Call Bar Syrup 1 oz Finest Call Watermelon puree 6 ea mint leaves Splash of club soda GARNISH: lime wedge + watermelon cube or ball + mint sprig In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients (except the club soda) with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into an iced plastic cup. Garnish.

Bumble Margarita

1.5 oz Herradura Reposado tequila 0.5 oz Grand Marnier 1 oz wildflower honey water * 1 oz lime juice 0.5 oz lemon juice GARNISH: mint sprig, lime wedge In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into an iced plastic cup. Garnish.

Cucumber Basil Mojito

1.5 oz Cruzan light rum 0.5 oz Finest Call White Sangria Mix 0.5 oz simple syrup 0.5 oz lime juice 2 ea cucumber slices 3 ea basil leaves GARNISH: Cucumber slice & Basil sprig In a mixing glass, combine the basil leaves, cucumber slices, Finest Call White Sangria Mix and simple syrup and muddle well. Add the remaining ingredients, top with ice and shake vigorously. Pour into a plastic cup. Garnish with cucumber slice and basil sprig.

Wildflower Honey Punch

Cocktails with Honey - Wildflower Honey Punch 1.5 oz Jack Daniels Honey 0.5 oz Finest Call White Sangria 0.5 oz wildflower honey water 1 oz lemon juice 1 oz orange juice Dash of Angostura bitters In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients (except the bitters) with ice and shake vigorously. Strain contents into an iced plastic cup. Garnish with lemon slice and top with bitters. (Should layer on top.)

Blueberry Breeze Sangria

1 oz Belvedere Wild Berry 1 oz Blueberry REÀL 1 oz cranberry juice 4 oz Ruffino Moscato GARNISH: 3 blueberries + mint sprig Fill a plastic cup with ice. Add the Belvedere Wild Berry, Blueberry REÀL, cranberry juice and Ruffino Moscato. Roll contents into a cocktail shaker and back into the plastic cup. Garnish and serve.

Honey Grapefruit Spritzer

1.5 oz Deep Eddy Ruby Red Grapefruit 0.75 oz lemon juice 1 oz orange blossom honey water * 1 oz grapefruit juice 1.5 oz club soda GARNISH: Grapefruit wedge In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients with ice and shake vigorously. Top with club soda and strain contents into an iced plastic cup. Drop in a grapefruit wedge.

Grapefruit Ginger Mule

1.5 oz Svedka Jalapeno Grapefruit 1 oz Ginger REÀL Splash of grapefruit juice (0.5 oz) Half a whole lime 4 oz club soda GARNISH: Half lime (above) and grapefruit slice Fill a plastic cup with ice. Squeeze a half of a lime into the glass and drop in. Add the remaining ingredients. Roll contents into a cocktail shaker and back into the plastic cup, twice. The half lime serves as the garnish + grapefruit slice.

Honey Grapefruit Crush

Cocktails with Honey - Honey Grapefruit Crush 1.5 oz Svedka Jalapeno Grapefruit vodka 0.75 oz lemon juice 1 oz wildflower honey water * 2 lemon wedges, squeezed and dropped into the drink Splash of grapefruit juice GARNISH: Grapefruit slice + mint sprig In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into an iced plastic cup and garnish.

Sweet Tea Mojito

1 oz Cruzan light rum 0.5 oz Deep Eddy Sweet Tea vodka 5 ea mint leaves 2 ea lime wedges 0.5 oz simple syrup Splash of club soda GARNISH: mint sprig and lime wedge In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients except the club soda and Deep Eddy Sweet Tea vodka. Top with ice and shake vigorously. Add then club soda, then strain into an iced plastic cup. Float with the Deep Eddy Sweet Tea vodka. Garnish with lime wedge and mint sprig.

Bee Sting

1.5 oz Svedka Jalapeno Grapefruit 1 oz lemon juice 1 oz orange blossom honey water * Splash of grapefruit juice GARNISH: grapefruit slice In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into an iced plastic cup. Garnish with grapefruit slice.

Wild Berry Sangria

1.5 oz Belvedere Wild Berry 2 oz Finest Call White Sangria 1 oz orange juice 3 oz Ruffino Moscato GARNISH: lemon wedge + raspberry + blueberry In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients with ice and shake vigorously (except the Moscato). Add the Moscato, then strain contents into an iced plastic cup. Garnish.

Gold Blossom Margarita

Clover Lemonade

1.5 oz Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey 1 oz lemon juice 1 oz clover honey water * GARNISH: pineapple wedge + lemon wedge Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake hard and strain into an iced plastic cup. Garnish.

Watermelon Margarita

1.5 oz Herradura Silver tequila 1 oz lime juice 1 oz Finest Call Bar Syrup 0.75 oz Finest Call Watermelon puree 2 lime wedges GARNISH: 1 watermelon cube or ball In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into an iced plastic cup. Garnish.

Mango Pineapple Mojito

1.5 oz Belvedere Mango Passion Vodka 0.5 oz pineapple juice 1 oz lime juice 1 oz Finest Call Bar Syrup 6 ea mint leaves GARNISH: Pineapple Wedge + lime wedge In a mixing glass, combine all the ingredients with ice. Shake moderately then strain into an iced plastic cup. Garnish.

Sweet Tennessee Highball

Cocktails with Honey - Sweet Tennessee Highball 1.5 oz Jack Daniels Honey 1 oz lemon juice 1 oz honey water Splash of club soda GARNISH: Lemon wedge In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients with ice and shake vigorously. Top with club soda and strain contents into an iced plastic cup. Drop in a lemon squeeze and serve.

1.5 oz Deep Eddy Ruby Red Grapefruit 0.75 oz lemon juice 1 oz Finest Call Bar Syrup 2 grapefruit wedges 4 ea mint leaves Splash of club soda GARNISH: Grapefruit slice + mint sprig In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients (except the club soda) with ice and shake vigorously. Strain contents into an iced plastic cup and garnish.

Southern Peach Sangria

1 oz Cruzan Light rum 2 oz Finest Call White Sangria 0.75 oz Peach REÀL 1 oz orange juice 2 oz Ruffino Moscato GARNISH: lemon wedge In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients with ice and shake vigorously. Strain contents into an iced plastic cup. Garnish with lemon wedge.

Grapefruit Ginger Mule

1.5 oz Svedka Jalapeno Grapefruit 1 oz Ginger REÀL Splash of grapefruit juice 4 oz club soda GARNISH: grapefruit slice + lime wedge Combine all the ingredients (except the club soda) in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously. Add the club soda. Strain the contents into an iced plastic cup. Garnish.

Jalapeño Grapefruit Collins

Blueberry Margarita

Wildflower Lemonade

1.5 oz Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey 1 oz lemon juice 0.5 oz wildflower honey water * 0.5 oz Finest Call Bar Syrup 1 oz water GARNISH: Floating lemon wheel. Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake hard and strain into an iced plastic cup. Garnish with lemon wheel.

Grapefruit Spritzer

1.5 oz Deep Eddy Ruby Red Grapefruit 1 oz lemon juice 1 oz Finest Call Bar Syrup 1.5 oz Ruffino Moscato GARNISH: Grapefruit slice Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker, except the Ruffino Moscato. Add ice and shake vigorously. Add the Ruffino Moscato and strain contents into an iced plastic cup. Garnish with grapefruit slice.

Honey Grapefruit Lemonade

Cocktails with Honey - Honey Grapefruit Lemonade 1.5 oz Deep Eddy Grapefruit 1 oz orange blossom honey water * 1 oz lemon juice Splash of club soda GARNISH: Grapefruit slice In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients with ice and shake vigorously. Top with club soda and pour contents into a plastic cup. Garnish with grapefruit slice.

Wild Berry Sparkling Sangria

1 oz Belvedere Wild Berry 2 oz Finest Call White Sangria 1 oz cranberry juice 2 oz Ruffino Moscato GARNISH: 3 berries (i.e. blackberries, raspberries, strawberry slices, blueberries ,etc.) In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients with ice. Roll contents by pouring into a plastic cup then back into shaker then back into plastic cup again. (Do not shake.) Garnish.

Mango Passion Sangria

1 oz Belvedere Mango Passionfruit 2 oz Finest Call White Sangria 1 oz orange juice 2 oz Ruffino Moscato GARNISH: Orange slice In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients with ice. Roll contents by pouring into the plastic cup, back into cocktail shaker, then back into cup. (Do not shake.) Garnish with orange slice.

Brown Derby Refresher

A riff off of an LA Classic, the Brown Derby, created in the early 1900’s at the Brown Derby diner. 1.5 oz Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey Whiskey 1.5 grapefruit juice 1 oz honey water Splash of club soda GARNISH: Grapefruit slice In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients with ice and shake vigorously. Top with club soda and pour contents into a plastic cup. Garnish with grapefruit slice.

Pink Moon Shandy

Cocktails with Honey - Pink Moon Shandy 1.5 oz Deep Eddy Grapefruit 1 oz orange blossom honey water * 0.75 oz lemon juice Splash of grapefruit juice 1.5 oz Blue Moon Belgian White beer GARNISH: lemon slice In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients (except the beer) with ice and shake vigorously. Top with Blue Moon and pour contents into a plastic cup. Garnish with lemon slice.

Rum Mule

1.5 oz Cruzan light rum 1 oz Ginger REÀL 4 oz club soda Half a whole lime In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients with ice including an entire half lime squeezed into the drink and dropped in. Roll contents back and forth into plastic cup back into the shaker several times, then serve in the plastic cup. (Half lime serves as the garnish.) * HONEY WATER: 2 parts honey to 1 part HOT water. Stir until dissolved. Keep in a squeeze bottle and refrigerated or on ice.
