The margarita, studies show, is the most popular cocktail in America and we know why. It’s refreshing, festive and the perfect drink to indulge with in the summer heat. Whether it’s Cinco de Mayo, or just a typical Taco Tuesday, margarita recipes are the perfect accompaniment to any occasion. You can have it sweet or spicy, with or without salt, frozen or on the rocks, by the glass or the pitcher, but always when you’re simply enjoying life.

If you are looking for the perfect margarita recipe, look no further. Omni’s culinary team has shared a few of their favorites to help you in your quest.

“La Mansión” Rita 

From Omni La Mansión del Rio, San Antonio, Texas

Deep in the heart of Texas, San Antonio is seeped with culture influenced by the Spanish and Mexican-Americans. As an international culinary destination, the city offers visitors the chance to experience authentic Tex-Mex accompanied by a refreshing margarita.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Tequila Casa Noble Reposado
  • 0.5 oz Cointreau
  • 0.5 oz Grand Marnier
  • 1 3/4 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup

Directions

Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Top with ice, shake vigorously then strain into margarita glass. Squeeze half a lime on top.

Jalapeño Margarita

From: Omni Tucson National Resort

Easy like a Tucson sunset, this simple jalapeño margarita takes staple liquor cabinet and kitchen ingredients and combines them into a light, spicy cocktail. The cocktail pairs perfectly with our tableside guacamole recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz silver tequila
  • 1 oz triple sec
  • 1.5 oz margarita mix
  • Sliced jalapeño
  • Lime wedges
  • Margarita salt

Directions

Prepare a martini glass by squeezing and rubbing a wedge of lime around the rim of the glass, then dip into margarita salt. Toss the lime wedge into the bottom of the glass. Scoop fresh ice into the glass. Add 2 oz of tequila over ice. Add triple sec and margarita mix (we like Tres Agaves). Garnish with one slice of jalapeño (or more) on ice.

Gold Blossom Margarita 

With six Omni properties actively beekeeping, Omni often incorporates homegrown honey into various culinary offerings, including this special honey-infused margarita. This gold-level rendition by nationally recognized mixologist, Kim Haasaurd, guarantees a taste of honey and orange liqueur.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Herradura Reposado Tequila
  • 0.5 oz Grand Marnier
  • 1 oz honey water (see recipe below)
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 0.5 oz lemon juice
  • Garnish: lime wedge

Honey Water Recipe
2 parts honey to 1 part hot water. Stir until dissolved. Keep in a squeeze bottle and refrigerated or on ice.

Directions

Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Top with ice, shake vigorously then strain into an iced plastic cup. Garnish with lime wedge.

Elevated Margarita 

The finest margarita in our collection is another brainchild of renowned mixologist Kim Haasaurd. The Elevated Margarita features Avión Silver tequila from the Highlands of Mexico along with a delicate bouquet of citrus, vanilla, pineapple and salt. Shaken with Cointreau with fresh lime and simple syrup, this margarita has a very clean flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Avión Silver tequila
  • 0.75 oz Cointreau
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 0.5 oz lemon juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • Garnish: lime wheel

Directions

If salt is desired, rim half the glass with a lime wedge and dip into salt. Set aside. Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Top with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into the ice-filled martini glass. Garnish with lime wheel.

Spicy Mango Margarita

As part of the 2018 “Summer of” series, “Summer of Mango”, the Omni culinary team created a cocktail that features sweet heat that’s refreshing and revitalizes the palate. This mango margarita recipe pairs exceptionally with a swimming pool and a hot day.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Herradura Reposado Tequila
  • 0.5 oz Cointreau
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1 oz Monin Spicy Mango Syrup
  • 2 slices mango sprinkled with Tajín Clásico Seasoning

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into an iced 12 oz glass. Sprinkle two mango slices with the Tajín Clásico Seasoning, skewer them and garnish the margarita.

Grand Ole Margarita

From Omni Amelia Island Resort, Amelia Island, FL
Straight from Falcon’s Nest restaurant on Amelia Island, this margarita pairs perfectly with a beach.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Herradura Blanco
  • 0.75 oz Monin Agave Organic Nectar
  • 0.5 oz fresh orange juice
  • 1.25 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz Grand Marnier
  • Garnish: lime wedge

Directions

Combine Tequila, Agave Nectar, Orange and Lime juice in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into margarita glass. Float Grand Marnier and garnish with lime.

Jalapeno Avocado Margarita

Based on the original Avocado Margarita from Austin, Texas, this isn’t your typical margarita recipe. This spicy concoction blends jalapeño and the popular avocado for a flavorful treat.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Tanteo Jalapeño Tequila
  • ½ avocado
  • 0.75 oz orange liqueur
  • TAJIN® Clasico Seasoning
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 lime
  • 1 oz Monin Agave Organic Nectar

Directions

Rub rim of a margarita glass with wedge of lime and dip into seasoning on a plate. Set aside. Cut lemon and lime in half and squeeze onto reamer of manual juicer. Cut avocado in half, and scoop into a glass and muddle. Pour everything over blended avocado. Place lid over the glass and shake. Add ice and strain into margarita glass.

Skinny Minny Rita

This super easy margarita keeps it simple and low-cal without skimping on flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Sauza Sauza Tres Generaciones Reposado
  • 1 oz Monin Sugar Free Sweetener
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • Garnish: lime wedge

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into margarita glass. Garnish with lime.
