The experience includes catch-and-release fishing for wild rainbow trout in the nearby Jackson River. Whether you’ve fly-fished before or trying it out for the first time, you can enjoy half or full day tours with, Orvis-trained guides. Experiences range from one-hour casting lessons to day trips where you can test the waters or hone in your skills.

Cascades Gorge Hiking

Perhaps one of the most popular activities, the Cascades Gorge Hike, guides you through the mountains among beautiful waterfalls. During your 3.5-mile hike, a trained naturalist provides insight about regional flora and fauna. Indeed, you may be surprised to learn about the medicinal and edible properties of the local plants.

Historic Skeet Shooting

One of the most noteworthy activities at the resort is the historic shooting club which dates back to 1933. The club offers everything you need for a safe experience like vests, eye and ear protection. You can enjoy a variety of experiences including two sporting clay courses with simulated birds and rabbits. Or, you can practice your shot on four skeet fields plus trap and five-stand courses. Nonetheless, if firearms aren’t for you, try your hand with bow and arrow shooting at the archery range.

Relaxing Horseback Riding

Explore the Allegheny Mountains by horseback with a guided trail ride or horse-drawn carriage adventure. The resorts equestrian center is home to nearly 30 impeccably trained horses. Beforehand, you can partake in a unique horsemanship lesson for hands-on experience caring for the horses.
