Jeff Smith to Lead Hotel Opening

FRISCO, Texas (July 21, 2016)Omni Hotels & Resorts announced today the appointment of Jeff Smith as general manager for the Omni Frisco Hotel.  In this role, he will lead the opening of the hotel and oversee all departments including operations, sales and marketing, rooms, risk management and food and beverage.

As a veteran of the hospitality industry, Smith has been with Omni Hotels & Resorts for nearly 15 years serving in various corporate and property leadership positions. He joins Omni Frisco from his most recent position as general manager at Omni Dallas Hotel at Park West. During his time at Omni, Smith has also served as vice president of special projects, vice president of operations and loyalty services, vice president of operations and corporate director of rooms, all at the brand level. Additionally, he spent a year as the general manager at the Omni Dallas Hotel.

The luxurious 16-story Omni Frisco Hotel, set to open in early summer 2017, will serve as a cornerstone of The Star development, which will be anchored by the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters and the Ford Center. The hotel will feature 300-finely appointed guest rooms and suites. The hotel will feature 24,000 square feet of meeting space, inclusive of a 13,000 square foot ballroom. The Omni and Dallas Cowboys partnership also offers planners and attendees access to additional meeting and exhibit space in the Ford Center, as well as events on the plaza. Guests may enjoy a fine dining venue, a lobby coffee and wine bar, and a rooftop pool, bar and grill.  The hotel will also have a luxury retail outlet featuring unique finds made by local designers as well as artwork including sketches of Cowboys Ring of Honor inductees. Situated on the fourth floor, the rooftop pool and deck can accommodate 300 to 400 guests and has stunning views of the plaza and the Ford Center. 

Smith received his master of business administration from Rockhurst College and undergraduate degree in business administration/hotel management at Michigan State University.
