DALLAS (Feb. 21, 2017)
– Omni Hotels & Resorts
announced the appointments of top leadership positions for the Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta
. Ramon Reyes has been named general manager and Jennifer Mayo has been named director of sales and marketing.
In his role, Reyes will lead the opening efforts of the Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta and oversee all departments including operations, sales and marketing, rooms, risk management, human resources and food and beverage. Most recently, he served as general manager of the Omni Riverfront Hotel in New Orleans, where he transitioned the property into the Omni portfolio from another brand. In the hotel’s first full year under the Omni flag and under Reyes’ leadership, it achieved significant RevPAR growth. The property also improved its competitive set ranking to number one in the area.
He joined Omni Hotels & Resorts in 2008 as director of rooms and operations for the Omni Royal Orleans. In that role, he was responsible for overseeing 345 rooms, as well as several departments including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, parking operations and loss prevention.
Mayo, with more than 20 years in the hospitality industry, will oversee all sales and marketing efforts for the Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta including managing, developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies that drive group, business and leisure travel sales, as well as leading all advertising and communications initiatives. She most recently served in the same position for nearly 13 years at the Omni Charlottesville Hotel, which achieved notable RevPAR growth under her tenure and was ranked number one in the market.
Mayo joined Omni Hotels & Resorts in 1998 as a group sales manager for the Omni Ambassador East Hotel in Chicago. She was then promoted to senior sales manager for the Omni Chicago Hotel, and briefly served as acting director of sales and marketing before moving to Charlottesville.
“I have known Ramon and Jennifer for many years, and there is not a better tandem in the industry to open and lead our new hotel,” said Andrew Casperson, vice president of operations for Omni Hotels & Resorts. “We are confident that their exceptional leadership skills combined with their dedication to the Omni brand will ensure many successful years at the Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta.”
Scheduled to open early 2018, the Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta will be a full-service hotel and serve as a cornerstone of the mixed-use community adjacent to SunTrust Park, future home of the Atlanta Braves. The luxurious property will feature 16 floors, 264 guest rooms including 28 suites, more than 12,000 square feet of meeting space, an elevated upscale pool deck and bar overlooking the ballpark, and a signature restaurant.
Located on the 60-acre mixed-use development site, at the northwest intersection of I-75 and I-285 at Cobb Parkway, the new community will redefine the traditional model of “live, work, play” into a “play, work, stay” destination. The community will also feature residences and premier office space, an entertainment venue, retail and a variety of dining options.
