LOCAL HOTEL GENERAL MANAGER RECEIVES TOP HONORS
AUSTIN, TX (May 19, 2010) – The Omni Austin Hotel Downtown is proud to announce Gene McMenamin was awarded Omni Hotels & Resorts’ General Manager of the Year for 2009. This award distinguishes him amongst all of the upscale hotels across the North American based luxury brand.
McMenamin has worked with Omni Hotels & Resorts for 28 years holding various management positions including; director of catering, director of restaurants, director of food & beverage and director of operations. He has served as president of the Greater Cincinnati Restaurant Association and was honored as the Restaurateur of the Year in 1992. He was the president of the Austin Hotel & Lodging Association in 2005 and still serves on the board of this organization. He serves on the Texas Hotel & Lodging Board of Directors, the Capital City African American Chamber of Commerce and the Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors.
McMenamin was the recipient of the Sensational Leadership Award in 2005 and the Revenue and Marketing Award in 2006 from Omni Hotels & Resorts and in 2008 received the Dick Mason Award for Ideal Mentoring.
