First Event Hosted by Freemark Abbey's Winemaster Ted Edwards on Leap Year Evening
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 15, 2012) - Noé Restaurant at The Omni Los Angeles Hotel is pleased to host a specially crafted winemaker’s dinner on Wednesday, February 29. The culinary and wine event is the first in a quarterly series and features legendary Napa Valley winery, Freemark Abbey. The unique five-course prix fixe menu was crafted by Noé’s Executive Chef, Glen Ishii, and paired with five Freemark Abbey wines. The evening will commence at 6:00 pm on Noé’s outdoor patio, which showcases the stunning downtown Los Angeles skyline, with a meet and greet with Freemark Abbey’s winemaster, Ted Edwards. Edwards, winemaster at Freemark Abbey for 27 years, is one of the region’s leading winemakers and is most noted for his highly acclaimed Cabernet Sauvignons.
Chef Ishii’s five-course menu was prepared to compliment each Freemark Abbey wine pouring. A first course ofYellow Tail Carpaccio with Uni Flan and Kalamansi Gelee is paired with Freemark Abbey, Sauvignon Blanc, Napa 2009. The second course follows with Chef Ishii’s Stress Free Snapper with Sweet Potato Puree and Porcini Cream to be enjoyed with Freemark Abbey, Chardonnay, Napa 2010. The third course features Natural Raised Beef Tri Tip with Kumquat Preserve complementing Freemark Abbey’s Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa 2008. The fourth course of Forest Mushroom Crusted Venison with Winter Black Truffle and Potato Puree was crafted by Chef Ishii to showcase the unique and velvety Freemark Abbey, Cabernet Sauvignon Bosche, Napa 2005. And to top off this exclusive evening, the pouring of Freemark Abbey’s luscious late harvest 2009 Edelwein Riesling will be paired with a dessert of Caramelized Apple with Mascarpone Ice Cream and TCHO Chocolate Pudding.

As a preview to this winemaker event, Noé Restaurant will offer a special three-course prix fixe menu for $34 per person with Freemark Abbey wine pairing (3 oz.) from February 4 - February 28, 2012.The Freemark Abbey Winemaker Dinner on February 29, 2012 is $75 per person for five-course Prix Fixe dinner and wine pairing (excludes tax, gratuity, and additional beverages).
