JAMES D. CALDWELL — President, TRT Holdings, Inc., Chief Executive Officer, Omni Hotels

Jim Caldwell is president of TRT Holdings, Inc., a privately owned, diversified holding company located in Dallas, Texas. Assets include the luxury hotel brand Omni Hotels & Resorts, Gold’s Gym International, Tana Exploration, Waldo’s Dollar Mart in Mexico and numerous investments in public companies and various real estate ventures. Caldwell also serves as chief executive officer of Omni Hotels & Resorts.


Since his appointment as president in July 2004, Mike Deitemeyer has established the company as a leading hotel brand known for delivering superior quality, award-winning service and exceptional guest experiences. He is responsible for establishing the vision for the company and ensuring that all areas are effectively driving together toward those goals.

Under his leadership, Omni Hotels & Resorts has been ranked “Highest in Guest Satisfaction Among Upscale Hotel Chains” in the J.D. Power and Associates Hotel Guest Satisfaction StudySM two of the last five years. The brand has also been noted as a top luxury brand by Consumer Reports and Entrepreneur magazine during his tenure.

He also serves on the board of directors for the Global Hotel Alliance and Global Hotel Network Advisory Board.

MIKE GARCIA — Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President, Acquisitions & Development

Mike Garcia is charged with spearheading Omni Hotels & Resorts’ aggressive growth cycle over the last several years. Recent acquisitions and developments created under his leadership include the purchase of the renowned La Mansión del Rio and the award-winning Watermark Hotel & Spa (now Mokara Hotel & Spa) in San Antonio, the Omni Fort Worth Hotel, and projects underway in Dallas, Texas, and Pontoque, Mexico.

Garcia is responsible for accounting and reporting, treasury, purchasing, risk management and capital project accounting for Omni Hotels & Resorts.

JOY ROTHSCHILD — Chief Human Resources Officer

Joy Rothschild, a 35-year associate who started in Omni's Management Development Program, rejoined Omni Hotels & Resorts as senior vice president of human resources in January 1998. In 2002, the department was recast as Associate Services to formalize the company’s service commitment to the people who make Omni Hotels a success. 

Rothschild serves on the Advisory Board for School of Hospitality Administration at Boston University, Hospitality Board of Governors for College of Merchandising, Hospitality and Tourism, University of North Texas, and American Hotel & Lodging Association’s Labor and Human Resources committees.

Rothschild is a Hotel Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) GoldenBell Winner and a 1992 recipient of Omni Hotels & Resorts’ President’s Award for developing the Omni Service Champion employee recognition program and the Power of One® employee empowerment program.

TOM SANTORA — Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President, Sales
Tom Santora is chief marketing officer and senior vice president of sales for Omni Hotels & Resorts where he oversees growth initiatives for the award-winning luxury hotel brand. Through his leadership, broad knowledge base and excellent hotel expertise, Omni has become a recognizable brand nationwide. In his position, he is responsible for establishing and driving a strategic plan across all disciplines, including advertising, public relations, e-commerce, customer loyalty, global sales, revenue management and electronic and call center distribution. 

Santora, named to D CEO Magazine’s list of “Top CMOs” in Dallas Fort-Worth in 2013, has more than 25 years of experience in the hotel industry.  Prior to joining Omni in 2008, he was  executive vice president of sales and marketing at Viceroy Hotel Group,  where he built the sales and marketing organization from the ground up and established the growth initiatives for the brand. Prior to joining Viceroy Hotel Group, Santora served in various sales and marketing positions during his 16 years with Marriott International.  

MICHAEL G. SMITH — Senior Vice President and General Counsel

Michael Smith joined Omni Hotels & Resorts in 1996 and has served as general counsel since 1998. Smith manages all legal matters, including the planning, structuring and negotiation of acquisitions and joint ventures. He also coordinates the company’s financial and investment transactions.

Peter Strebel — Senior Vice President of Operations

Peter Strebel is the senior vice president of operations for Omni Hotels & Resorts responsible for brand standard development, guest rooms and other operational areas for the growing convention collection and resort portfolio. In his current role, Strebel provides general counsel and support to state-of-the-art hotels such as the Omni Dallas Hotel, Omni Hotel at CNN Center and Omni Nashville Hotel—all of which are connected to large-scale convention centers. In addition, he oversees iconic properties such as the Omni Shoreham Hotel, Omni Mount Washington Resort and Omni Bedford Springs Resort.

He also serves on the board of directors for the Global Hotel Alliance.

STEPHEN ROSENSTOCK — Executive Vice President of Operations

Stephen Rosenstock is the executive vice president of operations responsible for brand development, guest rooms, food and beverage, and other operational areas. He oversees all Omni properties across North America and plays a key role in the brand’s expansion.

Rosenstock has been instrumental in establishing Omni as a leading luxury hotel brand known for its superior quality, exceptional guest experiences and award-winning service. He is responsible for creating incremental revenue opportunities and providing value-added services to Omni’s customers. He oversees new construction, as well as retail concepts, design and operating procedures. His creativity and design sensibilities can been felt throughout the brand in properties including Fort Worth, Dallas, Nashville, and San Diego. He also created Omni’s Morsel’s coffee shop and Mokara spas brands.

Rosenstock joined Omni Hotels & Resorts in 1975 as convention coordinator of the Omni International in Norfolk, V.A. and since then has served other Omni properties in various capacities. Rosenstock was recognized in 1995 as Omni Hotels & Resorts' general manager of the year and in 1994 received Omni Hotels & Resorts' marketing achievement award. Rosenstock is a graduate of Virginia Tech and State University.
