The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza
A huge part of United States history rests in our city. Less than half a mile away from Omni Dallas Hotel is Dealey Plaza and The Sixth Floor Museum. In 1963, President John F. Kennedy went on a five-city tour in Texas, and the day he landed in Dallas, he was met with tragedy. The Sixth Floor Museum, located in a former Texas School Book Depository building, takes you back in time to the hours leading up to his assassination. Dealey Plaza stands still to this day in remembrance of November 22, 1963.
Take an audio tour of the building and explore the grassy knoll just outside the building. Families, classrooms and history enthusiasts can appreciate the value of what had taken place at Dealey Plaza on that sad day.
