OMNI FORT WORTH HOTEL IS THE EXCLUSIVE CATERING COMPANY FOR FORT WORTH CONVENTION CENTER

Fort Worth, Texas (April 9, 2008) – As the opening date of the luxury Omni Fort Worth Hotel draws near, the hotel has announced its catering partnership with the Fort Worth Convention Center, which sits directly adjacent to Omni’s newest property. Beginning Jan. 1, 2009, the Omni Fort Worth Hotel will be the exclusive caterer to the city’s convention facilities – making the Fort Worth property one of the only hotels in the U.S. to handle this service for a major city’s convention center. The original agreement dates to 2005 negotiations between Omni and the City of Fort Worth.

“We look forward to handling all of the convention center’s food and beverage needs – from concessions to galas,” said Ed Netzhammer, general manager for the Omni Fort Worth Hotel. “Allowing us to cater the Fort Worth Convention Center will make a meeting planner’s job that much easier, as we are able to streamline their meeting needs and ultimately, be a ‘one-stop-shop’ for meeting planners.”

The luxurious Omni Fort Worth Hotel, will serve as the sole catering service for all food & beverage and concession operations including meetings, sporting events, musical performances, trade shows and conventions as well as other top-shelf entertainment that stops in Fort Worth. From the hotel to the convention center facilities, the Omni Fort Worth Hotel food & beverage staff will provide world-class service, so meeting and event attendees can expect an elevated dining experience.

“We have complete confidence in the Omni Fort Worth Hotel handling the catering needs of our outstanding convention center complex,” said Kirk Slaughter, director of the Fort Worth Convention Center. “The Omni brand has proven superior service and world-class accommodations, so it was an easy decision to have the Omni Fort Worth handle the food and beverage operations at our center.”

The Fort Worth Convention Center spans 14 blocks of downtown Fort Worth, and is located within walking distance of downtown hotels, restaurants, shops and entertainment venues. A $75 million renovation and expansion was completed in 2003, making the facility one of the finest of its kind in the Southwest.

Scheduled to open in January 2009, the Omni Fort Worth Hotel will also boast fine culinary selections including the renowned Bob’s Steak & Chop House, Wine Thief for enthusiasts and novices alike, the Whisky & Rye sports lounge and Cast Iron for the casual dining experience.
