Omni Fort Worth Hotel Brings Back Monthly Wine or Whiskey Dinners
FORT WORTH, Texas (February 22, 2013) — The Omni Fort Worth Hotel invites guests to venture from the ordinary and participate in its monthly “Wine or Whiskey” dinners presented by Cast Iron and Whiskey & Rye. A collaboration of artisans with culinary inspiration from the hotel’s executive chef and its spirited partners, “Wine or Whiskey” offers a total departure dining experience.
Back by popular demand, the 2013 series continues on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. in Cast Iron. February’s “wine” dinner will feature Executive Chef Sebastian Layen pairing cuisine that captures Fort Worth’s flavor with wines from Raymond Vineyards that embody the spirit of “Old Napa Valley.” Named the Wine Enthusiast's 2012 American Winery of the Year, Raymond Vineyards’ wines will couple flawlessly with Chef Layen’s menu of barramundi Carpaccio served with the 2011 Reserve Selection Napa Valley Chardonnay, free range chicken jalapeno sausage paired with the 2009 Reserve Selection Napa Valley Merlot, and roasted slide cardamom duck breast paired with the 2008 Generations Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
Next month, the spirited wine dinner will feature wines from Clos du Bois on March 28. Chef Layen will combine local flavors with the refined wines from the Clos du Bois Winery located in Sonoma, where elegant old-world French style winemaking meets vibrant California fruits.
