SUMMER TIPI BIRTHDAY PACKAGE AT THE OMNI INTERLOCKEN RESORT AND SPA

BROOMFIELD, CO (March, 2008) – Again this summer, out on the open prairie at Omni Interlocken Resort & Spakids can have fun birthday pow wows inside the authentic, 22-foot ceremonial tipi that now sits on the front lawn. The tipi can be rented for half or full-day parties for a “tribe” of 15 to 20 children and adults. The Tipi Party Package includes a kids’ tasting menu platter and a variety of activities.

Inside the tipi, guests can feast on:

Chocolate dipped krispie treats
Mini PB&J pinwheels
Mini grilled cheese sandwiches
Macaroni and cheese and mini ravioli
French fries shaped like tipis
Watermelon juice served with homemade lemonade and gummi worms.
A custom birthday cake created by the resort’s chef

During the party, activities include storytelling by a Native American Indian, a Butterfly Pavilion presentation and arts and crafts. The Tipi Party Package is available from May 1, 2008 through October 1, 2008 priced at $25 per child with a $100 minimum booking. Reservations can be made by calling (303) 464-3256.

The tipi was designed by Normadics Tipis Makers, who have created tipis for 35 years using the authentic Sioux design. They bring to the 21st century a "living artifact" making it possible for children to experience what a nomadic culture experienced hundreds of years ago. The company is also known for making all of the leather tipis used in Kevin Costner's movie, "Dances with Wolves,” and Tom Cruise's "The Last Samurai” film.
