THE OMNI MOUNT WASHINGTON RESORT REAFFIRMS ITS COMMITTMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY WITH NEW HERBAL GARDEN SPA TREATMENTS
BRETTON WOODS, NH (September 21, 2009) -- As part of the Omni Mount Washington Resort’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, the resort’s recently opened Spa has introduced a line of customized Herbal Garden Treatments. The unique, on-property sourced offerings will serve as The Spa’s newest signature treatments, representing a continuation of the resort’s strategy to seamlessly integrate sustainability into the property by having guests experience the art of herbal healing.
In support of this approach, The Spa at the Omni Mount Washington Resort recently planted an on-site herb garden with the intention of helping guests learn about herbal remedies. The interactive experience begins with spa-goers exploring the garden and discussing the benefits of each herb with a therapist. Guests then choose a combination of herbs for a customized treatment that best suits their needs.
While guests get settled in, the therapist mixes the chosen herbs into a sugar scrub to create a full-body exfoliating balm. After applying the mixture to the body, the scrub remains on the skin while a mud mask layer is applied on top. Guests are then wrapped in a large, heated bath sheet, enabling the pores to open and the mixture to detoxify the body. As this cleansing process is taking place, the therapist massages the scalp with an herb-infused oil, also created from the property grounds. Finally, after being unwrapped and rinsed off in the en-suite shower, the herbal oil is applied to the full body. The entire Herbal Garden Treatment experience costs $160 and lasts 75 minutes, with an option to upgrade by adding a 50-minute massage treatment for $265.
Other unique treatments offered at The Spa include the Alpine Body Glo and Mount Washington Signature Body Ritual. Both treatments include the property’s customized spa products created with local botanicals, aptly named “Mountain Mist” for the “mist” that often surrounds Mount Washington and the Presidential Range. Additional, treatments include the Coffee Bean Body Polish for those who need a pick-me-up; Adventurer’s Pedicure to soothe tired feet; Stone Massage for traditionalists; Gentleman’s Facial, uniquely crafted to soothe skin irritated from shaving; Intensive Hair Treatment, perfect for those whose locks need some love and more.
Offering breathtaking views of the Presidential Mountain Range, the 25,000-square-foot Spa at the Omni Mount Washington Resort presents a unique experience. Opened in early 2009, The Spa boasts 13 treatment rooms, including five dedicated massage rooms, one couples room, three facial rooms, three multi-purpose rooms and one deluxe wet room with a Vichy shower, treatment tub with air jets and color therapy. The Spa also features a Spa Suite – a cluster of four treatment rooms for massage, facial, body and bath treatments and its own private lounge.
