ACCLAIMED OMNI CORPUS CHRISTI HOTEL UPDATES GUEST ROOMS, CORRIDORS AND MEETING SPACE
Corpus Christi, Texas (July 8, 2011) – The Omni Corpus Christi Hotel, named the "Best of the Best" by the Corpus Christi Caller Times, has made extensive enhanvements to the Bayfront Tower guest rooms and corridors adn updated some of its 38,000 square feet of meeting space.
The new, Relaxed Coastal Chic decor brings an authentic ocean ambiance to the forefront. Guests will enjoy a beach-centric color palette beginning with a sand and cherry wood-toned approach, accented with turquoise, coral and sea-foam. The carpet is sand-toned; the new, lush bedding is white with coral pillows; the sheer draperies feature a basket weave pattern; new furniture is constructed of dark, cherry wood with textured raffia; and the art has a modern beach motif. The bathrooms continue the approach with new sand-colored tile floors, turquoise wall covering, beach art and a turquoise vanity with a raised white sink. Guest rooms also offer new mini-refrigerators and large, flat screen TVs.

In addition to the hotel renovation, the Durrell Family and Innovative Leisure Partners announced plans to build a waterpark, Hurricane Alley. The location will be adjacent to the Corpus Christi Hooks Whataburger Field, and it will be the first waterpark integrated into a baseball field. The project will break ground in August with an opening in the spring of 2012. Elements will include a lazy river style pool, six-story-high twin slides, a swim-up bar and a special swim area for small children with a ¼ scale model aircraft carrier complete with water cannons. Other destination updates include new restaurants at Harrison Landing in the Marina District; the new Harbor Ferry where visitors can jump on board and motor to and from the Texas State Aquarium; and Dorsey’s Splash Park at the Texas Sate Aquarium. Also new to the downtown area is SegCity, Segway Tours.
