Omni severin hotel announces appointment of new executive chef

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (March 21, 2013) — The Omni Severin Hotel welcomes Vincent Russo as he will serve as the executive chef for the luxurious historic property located in downtown Indianapolis. As the executive chef for the Omni Severin Hotel, Russo will oversee all menu creation and culinary execution and operations for 1913 Restaurant, the Severin Bar  and

Wine Thief, as well as in-room dining, banquets and catering. 

Chef Russo has an all-embracing background in the hospitality industry with more than 18 years’ experience in hotel and resort kitchens around North America. Most recently, Russo served as the executive chef at the Ritz-Carlton in New Orleans. Prior to that, he held a couple roles, including executive chef, at the Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas. Furthermore, he has held consulting chef positions for establishments in New York; and was a part of three hotel opening teams. 

Recently, the Omni Severin Hotel transformed its eateries into 1913 Restaurant, the Severin Bar and Wine Thief. 1913 Restaurant is a rustic, farm-to-table restaurant that features local and regional food influenced from restaurant menus that one would have experienced in the early 1900's. The Severin Bar is a premier sports bar and is within easy walking distance to major sports venues. The Wine Thief blends sophistication and elegance, and features fine wines, ports and cordials. Complimenting, wine-friendly, small plate selections are also available. 

Russo is a native of Jamaica, Queens and graduated from New York Restaurant School in 1994. He comes from an Italian background and grew up cooking in the kitchen with his family on Sundays.
