Local director recognized as corporate ideal executive of the year
Norman Rowland Receives Annual Award by Omni Hotels & Resorts
AMELIA ISLAND, FL (October 25, 2012) – Annually recognizing key members of the Omni Hotels & Resorts family as the “Ideal Executives,” the Omni Amelia Island Plantation is proud to announce local Amelia Island resident Norman Rowland as the Ideal Executive of the Year in Engineering. With 50 distinct hotels across North America, Omni Hotels & Resorts distinguished only six officials with the Ideal Executive award.
Norman Rowland, director of engineering at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation, was recognized as the ideal executive for his incredible contribution to the resort's $85 million re-imagination construction project; overseeing multiple engineering departments and staff members; improving financial efficiencies and streamlining operations; as well as increasing internal satisfaction scores for both guests and associates. Rowland has been with Omni Hotels & Resorts since they took ownership of the Amelia Island Plantation in 2010 but has worked at the oceanfront resort property since 1982.
"Norman's work ethic, humility and dedication to our resort, his employees and his job is extraordinary," said Paul Eckert general manager. "His thirty years of service is most deserving of this recognition and we are proud to have him represent the Amelia Island community on the Omni corporate level."
Other Omni Amelia Island Plantation executives to have received the Ideal Executive award in the past include Julie Doi, Claudia Cid, Leslie Tune and Paul Eckert.
