SUMMER IS SERVED AT THE OMNI GROVE PARK INN

New culinary adventures, events, and specials kick off the season in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina

June 11, 2015 (Asheville, N.C.) - A dining destination all its own amid one of the strongest and most innovative culinary scenes in the country, The Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, N.C. is serving up new seasonal dining menus, adventures and events through the season.

The Inn boasts 10 restaurants and lounges, from Blue Ridge serving creative farm-to-table Southern cuisine to French and American cuisine paired with Old World wines at Vue 1913. The property’s newest addition, Edison, offers Southern comfort food with a local twist that will delight foodies of all ages.

This summer, the property invites travelers to savor the following experiences:

“Find” Dining from the Blue Ridge Mountains
Sample a new way of “going out to eat” with The Omni Grove Park Inn’s Culinary Hiking Excursion, which offers guests the opportunity to forage their own ingredients for a truly locally-sourced meal. Created in partnership with No Taste Like Home, an Asheville-based purveyor of culinary travel programming and events, the immersive adventure offers epicurean-minded travelers the chance to hand-pick their own produce in the Blue Ridge Mountains with a highly trained guide in search of edible wild plants, mushrooms and more. Participants will find plenty of items to take back with them, including mushrooms such as chanterelles, hen of the woods and leatherback milk cap, and plants like autumn olive, black walnut, Japanese knotweed and serviceberry. After foragers have gathered a sampling of wild foods, the talented culinary team at Vue 1913 transforms the finds of the day into deliciously innovative dishes. Cost: $75 per person. Guests are advised to make dinner reservations at Vue 1913 along with booking the foraging tour. This new activity is available through the fall season.

Party Like it’s 1913
Celebrate the 102nd anniversary of The Omni Grove Park Inn with the 1913 Commemorative Dinner at Vue 1913. Scheduled for Sunday, July 12, the first annual dinner will offer a modern day adaptation of the hotel’s 1913 dinner menu. Chef de Cuisine James Lumley will feature a five-course dinner drawing from the original menu items, including a consommé, a broiled fish and roasted Prime Rib. Paying homage to the early twentieth-century theme, the Inn is encouraging guests to dress in their best dinner wear. Dinner cost: $75 per person. Jackets required. Reservations can be made now by calling 800.438.5800.
