Omni Hotels & Resorts Names Fernando Gibaja General Manager of Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita
Dallas, TX (June 29, 2026) – Omni Hotels & Resorts today announced the appointment of Fernando Gibaja as General Manager of Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita, the brand’s first luxury property in Mexico, set along the pristine Pacific coastline of Riviera Nayarit. Gibaja will oversee all aspects of the resort’s pre-opening planning, operational strategy and guest experience as the property prepares to open in Spring 2027.
A highly accomplished hospitality executive with more than 30 years of international experience, Gibaja brings a distinguished track record of successfully leading luxury hotels and resorts across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, the United States and Mexico. Most recently, Gibaja served as General Manager of The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort.

Throughout his career, Gibaja has held senior leadership roles at various luxury hotels and resorts, including Capella Hotels and Resorts, Jumeirah Group and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. In his new role, Gibaja will work closely with ownership, development partners and Omni’s leadership to bring the vision of Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita to life.

Set along the white-sand shores of Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit, Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita will feature 202 guest rooms, 42 suites and two villas, each designed to showcase views of the Pacific Ocean. The beachfront resort will offer a luxury spa, five ocean-view restaurants, five resort pools and more than 27,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space.
