South Congress Avenue has been referred to as Austin’s SoHo - an eclectic collection of shops, restaurants, boutiques and music venues including such notables as the legendary Continental Club, the Saxton Pub, Uncommon Objects, Perla’s, Home Slice Pizza and the iconic Austin Motel. Its popularity has been inspired by the magnificent and unobstructed view of the Texas State Capitol. South Congress is bordered by two historic South Austin neighborhoods: Travis Heights to the east and Bolden Creek to the west.

Things to Know Before You Go to South Congress

Beautiful days will bring out the crowds to this iconic city district. Plentiful parking exists behind the street buildings to the west in a pair of parking garages. Street parking is available north along the stretch reaching down to the Congress Street Bridge.
The first Thursday of the month features a pedestrian-friendly arts and music scene that brings in area artisans, musicians and more. Browse booths and stores until as late as 10 p.m.
