At the helm of the inspired culinary team at Omni Houston Hotel is Executive Chef Franklin Thompson. Originally from Phoenix, Chef Thompson began his culinary journey as a short order cook at Swenson’s Ice Cream Parlor. He eventually moved on to the Ritz Carlton Hotel and Resort in Phoenix where he spent six years gaining a wealth of experience as a line cook in both their casual and fine dining restaurants. He then furthered his hospitality experience by spending seven years in the sports venue arena working for the Phoenix Suns basketball team, Phoenix Coyotes ice hockey team and the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team. Soon after, he was hand-picked for the opening team at the Four Seasons Hotel and Resort in Scottsdale. In 2007, Chef Thompson made the move to Hershey Entertainment and Resorts where he spent nearly eight years as a Banquet Chef, Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef at the prestigious Hershey Country Club. Chef Thompson joined Omni Hotels & Resorts in June of 2014 as Executive Sous Chef in San Antonio. He made the move to Omni Houston Hotel in 2016 and continues his commitment to delivering impeccable food and service to Omni Houston Hotel guests.
