Guests can sign up for one of our daily Segway™ tours, rent bicycles, tag-along bikes, baby trailers, jogging strollers and Island Hoppers (golf carts).

Segway™ tours are open to the public. Amelia's Wheels is only able to rent bicycles and Island Hoppers to guests and property owners of Amelia Island Plantation community. Rentals are not available to the general public. 

Hours of Operation

Daily: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Segway™ Guided Tours

Full orientation prior to each tour. All tours are guided with one coach per four riders with a maximum of eight guests per tour. Must be 8 years old and 65 pounds. Ages 8-15 are considered children. A $25 cancellation fee applies for canceling within 12 hours of tour. Reservations are required.

Marshside & Creekside Tours
1.5 hours - $70/child and $85/adult (Ages 8+)
Everyone can go on this tour! Coached orientation is followed by a tour along our novice-level paths to Drummond Point Park or Walker's Landing. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Island Hoppers

These four- and six-person gas powered carts are only allowed on paved roadways. Age 16 or older with valid driver’s license. Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Due to safety requirements, Island Hoppers and bicycles must only be used on Amelia Island Plantation's property and are not allowed on any roads outside of the resort. Minimum age limits may apply. Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Stop by the fully stocked retail shop, complete with top-of-the-line binoculars and field guides, to fulfill all your exploring needs. Or visit with our local rescued critters, chat with our naturalists, rent a fishing pole or sign up for a tour or camp.

Nature Programs are available for all ages and levels of experience. Explore the natural beauty of the island while strolling through a maritime forest. Discover Amelia's natural wonders with the Nature Center. Drop by to chat with our naturalists, rent a fishing pole or sign up for a tour!

Pre-registration is required for all tours. There is a cancellation fee of $25 within 12 hours of the program and full price no call, no show.

Explore the natural beauty of Amelia Island from the water with our Adventure Tours. Paddle through the tidal salt marsh with a naturalist while learning about the ecosystem and its diverse wildlife.

KAYAKING
Tours last approximately 1.5 hours. Minimum age is 8 years old. Ages 8-12 are required to paddle with an adult.
Naturalist Kayak Tour: $75 per person (single and tandem available)

PADDLEBOARDING
Tours last approximately 1.5 hours. Introductory paddle lessons included. Minimum age is 10 years old. Minimum 80 lbs. and up.
Paddleboard Tour: $75 per person

Fish at our variety of catch-and-release lakes and lagoons. Aury Island contains a variety of brim, bass and catfish.

NATURE CENTER FISHING POLE RENTALS

• Conventional gear available for rent - $25 for 24-hour rental 
• 1/2 lb. bag of frozen shrimp is available for purchase

Freshwater shore fishing is available through the Nature Center.

CAMP AMELIA
Our camps give guests ages 4-10 the chance to explore the resort and discover nature, science, salt life and much more! Pre-registration for camps required. Call for availability 904-432-1451.

Camp Amelia provides engaging activities, creative crafts and learning excursions for guests ages 4-10. Children must be potty trained. Available by advanced request only. | $95 per child (includes lunch).

FAMILY DISCOVERY SERIES

• Crab Grab – Go crabbing with the naturalists the old fashioned way. $38/child
• Shark Tooth Discovery – Learn about different sharks while combing the beach for your own sharks’ teeth. Then craft your very own necklace to take home. $38/child
• Marine Mammals Discovery – Learn about the various marine mammals that inhabit our coastal areas and complete a fun booklet. $38/child
• Snake Discovery – Get up close and personal with the Nature Center’s most slithery residents. $38/child
• Fishing 101 – Enjoy a leisurely hour of freshwater fishing on the banks of Aury Island.* $38/child
• Sea Turtle Discovery – (tour only offered May–October) Discover the precious sea turtle and make a conservation bracelet. $38/child
• Junior Naturalist – Help a naturalist complete their duties. Feed animals, clean tanks and lead tours. Available with pre-registration 24 hours in advance. $100/child
