OMNI CHICAGO HOTEL COMPLETES MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR RENOVATION
Michigan Avenue’s Only All-Suites Hotel Remodels Guestrooms; Updates 676 Restaurant & Bar and Meetings Space
CHICAGO (June 23, 2015) — Today the
Omni Chicago Hotel, located in the heart of the Magnificent Mile, announced the completion of an $11 million renovation. This multi-year makeover transformed 347 suites, including 10 specialty suites, all public space located within the hotel, which also included updates to the highly acclaimed 676 Restaurant & Bar, the hotel’s nine meeting rooms, and its 8,000 square feet of meeting space.
Embracing the iconic architecture within Chicago, the renovation forges historical elements of Louis Sullivan's intricate sketches, the Chicago School's building materials of terracotta, limestone, steel and brick, with the whimsy of modern sculptures synonymous with the city. The rooms also incorporate unique architectural elements and distinctive in-room lighting that combine to mirror the Chicago skyline, which evolves to take on a new identity each nightfall. Furthermore, each guestroom features two high definition televisions, memory foam pillows, and residential-style lighting.
676 Restaurant & Bar, known for its dramatic views of Chicago's Magnificent Mile and a commitment to local cooking representative of the seasonal Midwestern palate, underwent a transformation to create a more intimate setting for guests. Edison style lighting places a spotlight on a new sepia mural that wraps around the room. Other changes include new wall art in the two semi-private dining rooms, and new hardwood tables that provide a more streamlined look and feel. The restaurant also received new chairs, barstools, carpet, and lounge furniture.
Meetings spaces were transformed to offer additional seating and improved décor, including new drapes, chairs, carpet and countertops in the Chagall Ballroom, Picasso Ballroom and Executive Boardroom. The hotel also added an additional meeting room, the Van Gogh Room, which features 1,624 square-feet of meeting space with floor to ceiling windows overlooking Michigan Avenue. The new room is the perfect size to host banquets or weddings as it can accommodate up to 120 people. The hotel now boasts a total of 8,000 square feet of meeting space, and is the ideal choice for board meetings, business functions and corporate events.
The newly renovated Omni Chicago is the only all-suite luxury hotel on Michigan Avenue with access to Chicago’s famous downtown attractions. Guests can enjoy shopping, parks and museums during the day, an indoor pool, with the option to retreat to the comforts of one of the finest suites in Chicago in the evening.
