Program to highlight two seasonal staples, sliders and popsicles, at Omni Hotels & Resorts across the country

DALLAS (April 17, 2017) – “Omni Originals,” the culinary and cocktail program launched by Omni Hotels & Resorts in February 2017, continues this summer highlighting the season’s most beloved foods: sliders and popsicles. For the entire month of May, participating Omni properties across the country will feature slider and beer pairings, while a selection of refreshing popsicles will “pop-up” throughout the month of July. 

As a nod to National Hamburger Month, Omni has created an exclusive slider and beer menu that will be available at participating bars and restaurants from Monday, May 1st through Wednesday, May 31st. The “Buns & Brews” menu will highlight regional favorites like a classic All American Slider (double beef patty, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles); a New England Lobster Slider (fresh lobster, celery, mayonnaise); a Texas Slider (smoked brisket, barbeque sauce, smoked cheddar, pickles, crispy fried onions); a Nashville Hot Chicken Slider (hot chicken, creamy cabbage slaw, dill pickles); and a D.C. Crab Cake Slider (house made crab cake, bibb lettuce, tomato, horseradish tartar sauce). 

Each slider will be paired with a craft beer that complements its bold flavor. Heavier sliders such as the Pulled Pork and Nashville Chicken will be paired with a bitter Voodoo Ranger IPA, which cuts through the richness of the meat and cleanses the palate. Alternatively, a lighter slider like the New England Lobster will be paired with a citrus-based beer such as the Citradelic Tangerine, to match the flakiness of the lobster while enhancing the lemon used in the recipe.

Come July, popsicles will take center stage as “Omni Originals” provides the perfect treat for cooling off in the intense summer heat. Throughout the month, each participating hotel will select a day to surprise-and-delight guests with complimentary popsicles on premise. The special event will feature a selection of icy treats—curated by the hotel’s chef— that has been chosen from over 15 original Omni popsicle recipes.  

Additionally, all month long, select popsicles will be offered on properties’ poolside bar menus as a fun (and photo-worthy) add-on to the seasonal cocktail offerings. Guests are encouraged to contact their Omni property to confirm available flavors. 

Programming for the final 2017 “Omni Originals” activation will be announced in the coming months.
