Omni Hotels & Resorts Launches Hot-Air Balloon Campaign To Raise Awareness For Food Insecurity For Hunger Action Month

Three-city tour kicks off at Omni PGA Frisco Resort with goal to inspire action and donate 750,000 meals to food banks nationwide this month

FRISCO, TX (September 13, 2022) – Today Omni Hotels & Resorts took to the skies with a hot-air balloon campaign to raise awareness for the fight against food insecurity for Hunger Action Month. The balloon’s inaugural ascent happened at sunrise from the 17th fairway on the Fields Ranch East course at the highly anticipated Omni PGA Frisco Resort, calling on guests and locals alike to take action with Omni and give back to communities nationwide.

The North Texas Food Bank, a longtime partner of Omni and a member of Feeding America®, was on hand to support the event. In the past year alone the food bank has served nearly 97 million nutritious meals across a diverse 13-county service area.

The hot-air balloon campaign will continue with stops at The Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, VA and Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta, GA. Earlier this month, Omni announced an ambitious goal to donate 750,000 meals to Feeding America® as part of its Say Goodnight to Hunger platform and in honor of Hunger Action Month, offering several ways for guests and the public to get involved:


  • Book a room: Omni will donate two meals for all leisure and group bookings completed between September 1 – 30 across its portfolio
  • Opt out of housekeeping: Omni will donate two meals when guests opt out of house cleaning services during their stay in September
  • Buy a coffee: Omni will donate one meal for every large coffee or espresso drink sold at its hotels and resorts, nationwide
  • Donate: Omni is driving donations for Feeding America® via a dedicated landing page on its website; visit


Omni’s Hunger Action Month activations are part of the brand’s Say Goodnight to Hunger initiative, which was launched in June 2016 to support the more than 34 million Americans who live with food scarcity. Every Omni property participates in Say Goodnight to Hunger. To date, more than 21 million meals have been donated and, with a combined brand and community effort for Hunger Action Month, the projected donation will bring that number to close to 22 million meals.

The North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) is a top-ranked, nonprofit hunger-relief organization operating a state-of-the-art volunteer and distribution center in Plano, the Perot Family Campus. This past year, the Food Bank worked hard in partnership with member agencies from our Feeding Network to provide access to almost 97 million nutritious meals across a diverse 13-county service area - this included 27 million meals to kids and 11.6 million pounds of food distributed through our mobile pantry program.
