Fly Fishing

Try your hand at angling the Ammonoosuc River, as it runs right through the resort, or any of a number of local rivers and streams, including some of New Hampshire’s most pristine fly-fishing destinations. New Hampshire fishing licenses may be purchased online before your visit, or at the Activities Concierge Desk in the Great Hall of Omni Mount Washington Resort. Fly Fishing Rental Equipment

Head on over to the Stone Pillar Lodge (adjacent to the Golf Clubhouse) where our helpful staff can assist in getting you set up for fly-fishing success! Whether you would like to dabble in Tenkara or keep it classic, we have both styles of rods with all the bells and whistles to help you catch a trophy fish!

      *All rental equipment due back by 5:00 p.m.

If the fly fishing equipment is for fishing at the pond at Omni Mount Washington Resort, a New Hampshire fishing license is not required. All other fishing locations require a valid New Hampshire fishing license which can be purchased online at the New Hampshire Fish and Game website.

 

COVID19 PRECAUTIONS

  • Due to our continued concern regarding COVID-19, activities must be conducted with members of your own party only. You will not be grouped with participants you do not know. Masks are required throughout certain areas of the Bretton Woods Base Area and will be marked with signage.
  • Bretton Woods and the Omni Mount Washington Resort will  adhere to the Universal Guidelines as mandated by the Governor of the state of New Hampshire. For more information, follow this link.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • All reservations are charged in full at the time of booking. Please pay careful attention to local weather forecasts if you feel that you do not want to participate in the rain. If you choose to cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled start time due to the weather, you will be charged the full amount.
  • If your activity is cancelled due to weather or other unforeseeable conditions, you will receive a full refund or have the opportunity to reschedule. We will make every attempt to contact you at least 24 hours ahead of time however; this 24-hour notice may not always be possible due to the unpredictable nature of the weather in New Hampshire.
  • You are required to arrive promptly at your scheduled start time. You will not be given a refund or a gift certificate if you are late for your activity.
  • We understand that COVID-19 creates uncertainty with travel plans. Please call us to discuss your options should you need to cancel due to situations resulting from the pandemic.

On-River Beginner Clinics

Join our experienced guide for a “teach by terrain” fly-fishing experience on the Ammonoosuc River. These clinics are ideal for beginners; teaching basics of fly-casting, choosing the proper fly for your quarry, and navigating the river to find ideal places to throw a line in.

Guests will meet their instructor at the Stone Pillar Lodge 10 minutes prior to the lesson before getting all the necessary equipment and heading out to the water. Fly-casting and fly-fishing clinics are restricted to ages 13 and up. All participants 16 and older must have a NH State Fishing License, which can be purchased ahead of time online at the NH Fish and Game website. A parent or guardian must be present to sign a waiver for anyone under 18 years of age.  

2021 On-River Clinic Schedule

  • Available Tuesday through Saturday; May 29 - October 9, 2021; plus May 30 – 31 & October 10 & 11, 2021.
  • Not Offered Sundays & Mondays; plus June 27 - July 1, 2021 & August 21 - 24, 2021.
  • Clinics run from 1:00pm – 3:00pm.
  • Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance online or by calling 603-278-3320.


On-River Clinic Rates

  • $198 for 2 Guests

  • Prices include rod & flies. Prices do NOT include waders. Closed-toe water shoes are recommended if you do not have your own waders.

Our custom Guided Fly Fishing River Adventures will allow you to test your skills on a classic New England trout stream located on the Omni Mount Washington Resort property. In the shadow of Mount Washington and the Presidential Range, you and your guide will explore the local streams and ponds in search of the famed rainbow trout and native brook trout.

Please note, guests must present a valid printed fishing license from the State of New Hampshire prior to departure. If not already purchased, you may purchase a license online. The guide and the guest(s) will then get outfitted with a vest, an assortment of flies, and fly rod. Then it is off to the stream!
