Being in the heart of New Hampshire's White Mountains means you're surrounded by one of the most renowned hiking networks in the world. With more than 2,000 miles of trails to explore, you're perfectly positioned to experience the very best of hiking in the East. Whether you're setting out for a scenic walk or a challenging summit, it's important to treat these natural spaces with care. Think of the forest as someone’s home—and you’re the guest. Practice “Leave No Trace” principles: pack out everything you bring in, stay on marked trails, and leave what you find.

Most trails beyond the trailheads offer no amenities, so be sure to plan ahead with water, layers, and a sense of adventure.

Ammonoosuc and Old Carriage Road Trails

From a peaceful stroll to a more challenging mountain adventure, both start just outside the hotel and offer something for every pace and passion. On-property trails like the West Mountain Trail at the summit of Bretton Woods offers easy access to breathtaking overlooks, while nearby favorites such as Mount Willard and the historic Crawford Path provide unforgettable day hikes just minutes away. The old carriage paths throughout the property offer a more casual stroll to scenic overlooks like Upper Falls.
