Driving Directions

FROM CHICAGO O’HARE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – 17 MILES/35 MINUTES

Take I-90 East (toward downtown Chicago) to where it joins with I-94. Take the Ohio Street exit and continue to Michigan Avenue. Turn left onto Michigan Avenue and go 3 blocks to Huron Street. The hotel is located on the left at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Huron Street.

DIRECTIONS FROM CHICAGO MIDWAY AIRPORT – 13 MILES

Take Cicero Avenue north out of the airport to Highway 55 North (Stevenson Highway) to I-90/94 West. Exit I-90/94 West at Ohio Street. Go .5 miles mile east on Ohio Street to Michigan Avenue. Turn left onto Michigan Avenue and go 3 blocks to Huron Street. Turn left onto Huron Street, and the hotel is on the left.

DIRECTIONS FROM THE NORTH – NORTH IL, KENOSHA, RACINE AND MILWAUKEE, WI

Take the I-94 Illinois Tollway South to the Edens Expressway (also I-94). The Edens will join with I-90. Continue on I-94/I-90 East to downtown Chicago. Exit Ohio Street and continue 8 blocks to Michigan Avenue. Turn left onto Michigan Avenue and continue 3 blocks to Huron Street. Turn left onto Huron Street, and the hotel is on the corner on your left side.

DIRECTIONS FROM THE NORTHWEST – ROCKFORD

Follow the signs going east indicating "Downtown Chicago" (also I-90 Kennedy Expressway). For your information, I-90 joins with I-94, so continue east on I-90/I-94 to downtown Chicago. Exit on Ohio Street and continue 8 blocks to Michigan Avenue. Turn left onto Michigan Avenue and continue 3 blocks to Huron Street. Turn left onto Huron Street, and the hotel is on the corner on your left side.

DIRECTIONS FROM THE SOUTH – KANKAKEE AND CHAMPAIGN/URBANA

Take 290 East to I-90/I-94 West (also Ryan Expressway) toward downtown Chicago. Exit on Ohio Street and go 1/2 mile to Michigan Avenue. Turn left onto Michigan Avenue and go three blocks to Huron Street. Turn left onto Huron Street, and the hotel is on the left.

FROM THE SOUTHWEST – JOLIET, BLOOMINGTON/NORMAL, PEORIA AND SPRINGFIELD

Take I-55 North (also Stevenson Expressway) toward downtown Chicago. When nearing downtown Chicago, take I-90/I-94 West to downtown. Exit Ohio Street and continue 8 blocks to Michigan Avenue. Turn left onto Michigan Avenue and continue 3 blocks to Huron Street. Turn left onto Huron Street, and the hotel is on the corner on your left side.

FROM THE WEST – DEKALB, WHEATON AND WESTERN SUBURBS

Take I-88 East-West Tollway East to Chicago and onto I-290 (Eisenhower Expressway). Take I-290 East to I-90/94 West. Take the Ohio Street exit to Michigan Avenue. Turn left onto Michigan Avenue and go 3 blocks to Huron Street. Turn left onto Huron Street, and the hotel is on the left.

DIRECTIONS FROM UNION STATION – AMTRAK

Depart Union Station on Canal Street (North). Turn right (East) onto Washington Street. Turn left onto North Michigan Avenue. Keep straight on North Michigan Avenue and arrive at the hotel, 676 North Michigan Avenue.

Valet Parking Rates:

  • 0 – 2 hours: $28
  • 2 – 5 hours: $36
  • 5 – 12 hours: $39
  • 12 – 24 hours: $67 per 24-hour period in a secured garage with unlimited in/out privileges

Transportation

  • Omni Chicago Hotel offers complimentary town car drop-off service for up to four people within a 3-mile radius of the hotel. Hours: Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Advance reservations are required; please contact the concierge desk.
  • Elevated trains (The El) are identified by color of the line. The closest stop to the hotel is four blocks away at Chicago & State on the Red Line.
  • Navy Pier seasonally operates a free trolley east and west between State Street and the Pier. Pickup is at the corner of Grand and Rush Avenue (four blocks).
  • Chicago Water Taxi is a great way to get around the city during the warm weather months. Cost is $2 – $4 per person and picks up at various locations.

TAXIS

Taxis are a convenient means of transportation in Chicago. Occasionally you might leave an item behind in the taxi or have a service concern. Always make sure to jot down the taxi number and name of the cab company when you get in – you will find the number on the license facing your seat. Below is a schedule of current taxi fares:

  • The flag pull or initial charge to enter a cab is $2.25 for the first 1/9 mile.
  • The additional fraction of a mile charge is $.20 for each additional 1/9 mile.
  • Every 36 seconds of time elapsed is $.20.
  • The flat fee for the first additional passenger is $1.
  • The flat fee for each additional passenger, after the first additional passenger, is $.50.
  • Tipping is customary for good service.
  • If you would like to file a complaint or compliment a cab driver, please call 311. Please make sure you have the cab number when you call.

OPTIONS FROM CHICAGO O’HARE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

  • Taxi Service: Approximately $35 – $50 each way (45-minute trip)
  • Town Car Service: Approximately $104 including tax and gratuity
  • Limousine Service: Approximately $156 depending on number of passengers
  • Train: The CTA Blue Line provides 24-hour service to downtown. The closest stop is Clark & Lake, which is a 10-minute cab ride to the hotel or you may transfer for free at Jackson Street and take the Red Line Howard train to Chicago Avenue, which is 5 blocks from the hotel.
