Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort

AIP renovation

Renovation Details:

The lure of stunning ocean sunrises and brilliant marsh sunsets have drawn generations of guests to our beach resort.  Now the resort is being enhanced-though our sense of true Southern hospitality and relaxed travel will remain.  The re-imagination project includes the following  additions:

  • The Conference Center will gain 30,000 square feet – inclusive of a 13,210-square-foot ballroom and new pre-function area – for a total of 80,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space.
  • An additional 155 ocean view guest rooms, including 27 suites, will be constructed on the north end of the resort, increasing our total resort rooms to 404 to better serve you through the year and key holiday times! Amelia Island pool
  • A luxurious arrival experience, with one welcome center for both our resort hotel guests and our villas guests staying at our sister property, The Villas of Amelia Island Plantation, which offers more than 320 villa units.   The new hotel lobby will showcase ocean views overlooking a new infinity edge pool through two-story floor-to-ceiling windows.
  • Off the hotel lobby, the new pools will offer over 10,000 square feet of water surface and the lounge/deck areas will be over 32,000 square feet, the largest pool area in North Florida. With over 650 new chaise loungers, it will be the perfect place for avid sun-seekers! In addition to the infinity edge adult pool and a family fun pool, two new hot tubs will be located adjacent to a new bar area  – all offering spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean.
  • In addition to our existing restaurants, a collection of new, more diverse dining options will be added that includes a high-end steak house, pizza eatery, sushi/tapas restaurant, and a new beachside restaurant and bar sure to please any appetite.
  • Easier traffic flow will be provided with new roads, walkways and signage to navigate the resort more quickly and enhance pedestrian accessibility to the beach, signature spa, shopping village and recreational activities.
  • Parking will also be improved with a new, three-deck structure creating 350 additional spaces, as well as 70 new valet spots.

Re-Imagination Progress:

Completed Re-Imagination Projects:

  • 3.5 Mile Beach Renourishment:
Be one of the first to enjoy our 3.5 miles of uncrowded Atlantic beaches.  With a recent $5 million beach renourishment project complete, you’ll be able to frolic in the ocean or stroll along the sandy beach with the water between your toes.  Special attention has been given to ensure the sand dunes and the wildlife of our natural-wonder island are protected while providing convenient beach access.
  • Resort Roof Renovation:
In Spring 2011, Omni Hotels & Resorts completed a $650,000 roof installation project on the main hotel tower.
  • Ocean Links Golf Cart Path Enhancement:
We improved the connection from the number six Ocean Links green to the number seven Ocean Links tee box. The new route provides a more direct navigation between these two picturesque holes.
  • Golf Pro Shop:
The golf pro shop renovations are complete! The new shop has all new finishes, flooring, lighting, fixtures and decor, along with an extensive selection of golf attire and equipment.
  • Marsh View Bar & Grill:
The golf restaurant has been transformed into the new Marsh View Bar & Grill! The restaurant has new finishes, flooring, furniture, lighting, televisions and a new bar area. We also built a new 5,000-square-foot deck that offers stunning views of the marsh and includes a fire pit and outdoor grill.

Current Re-Imagination Activities:  see photos of progress >

  • Please Note: Omni Amelia Island Plantation's Oak Marsh Golf Course and resort driving range is undergoing a renovation and beautification project. It is due to be completed in September 2012. Until then Oak Marsh will be closed and a temporary driving range location is available. Resort guests, club members, amenity card and pass holders will have full access to Ocean Links Golf Course, the recently renovated Golf Pro Shop and Marsh View Bar & Grill, as well as the resort Golf Academy. Long Point, a private-members course, is accessible for play based upon availability and additional fees. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Please call (904) 277-5907 for more information.
  • Pedestrian Walkway Underway:
The connectivity of the resort facilities will be greatly enhanced, with the addition of a pedestrian walkway  that starts at the new lobby and winds through the resort to the shopping village.  The pedestrian walkway is a beautiful pavestone path that will take guests past several amenities, including Nature Center, Falcon's Nest, Amelia's Wheels, The Spa, a variety of shops and the Artist's Guild.
  • New Resort Entry Road:
As we prepare for new luxurious hotel and lobby additions, the main entry way to the hotel will change.  Vehicle parking is still available for hotel and villa guests.  Please follow the signs to the new entry road as we build a dramatic new arrival experience!
