Kayaking at Amelia Island

Water enthusiasts will be in their element as they sit, stand or sail the pristine waters of Amelia Island. Settle in to your kayak as you leisurely paddle through the salt marsh searching for birds, fish and other animals flourishing in this dynamic ecosystem. Paddleboarding through these same waters provides scenery on a different level and adds a little more adventure to your excursion. For total relaxation, rent a sailboat for an hour or a day, take a sunset cruise or set sail on a charter on Amelia River.

KAYAKING

Experience the natural beauty of the island by kayak. You will learn about the birds, fish and animals that flourish in the salt marsh while you explore the island. Choose from a Naturalist Kayak Tour or Kayak Fishing Tour. Kayak tours last approximately 1.5 hours. Minimum age is 8 years old. Ages 8-12 are required to paddle with an adult.

PADDLEBOARDING

Explore the marsh creeks on a stand-up paddleboard. Tours last approximately 1.5 hours depending on the tides. Introductory paddle lessons given at the start of each tour tour. Minimum age is 13 years old.

SAILING

Sailing enthusiasts can make their way to the seaport of downtown Fernandina Beach where they can rent sailboats by the hour or for the day. Take a sunset cruises on an authentic replica of an 1840s schooner or set sail on a charter on Amelia River and the beautiful Cumberland Sound. Day and evening sunset cruises available.
