FLY FISHING 

Fly-fishing is one of the fastest growing sports; try your hand at it and find out why. All instruction, equipment and fishing stories are included. The location for this sport is dependent upon water conditions. Pa Fishing License is available online and reservations can be made through the Tally Ho Sport Shop.

COVERED BRIDGES OF BEDFORD COUNTY

Bedford County is graced with 14 covered bridges, all 100 years old or more. Handcrafted, these bridges are as long as 136 feet to as short as just 56 feet. Your day’s tour will answer many questions about covered bridges, including everyone’s favorite question “Why did they cover the bridges?” Today’s journey will take you to some of the more notable covered bridges in Bedford County and a driving tour through historic downtown Bedford.

WHITEWATER RAFTING 

Enjoy an exhilarating thrill ride down the Upper Youghiogheny, world-renowned for its tight and technical passages featuring continuous white water and a world-class drop of over 115 feet per mile, or try a little less intimidating rafting trip with class III – IV rapids. If they both seem a little more than you’re looking for, maybe a family float trip is more to your liking. No matter what your level of adventure, we have the trip for you!

Rafting Level I-II 

Includes a deli lunch. Suggested minimum age of 4; 3 – 5 hours long.

Weekday: Adult – $60, child under 12 – $45 

Weekend: Adult – $65, child under 12 – $50

Check-in varies depending on time of year.

Drive Time: 90 minutes

Rafting level III-IV

Includes a deli lunch. Suggested minimum age of 12; 2 – 6 hours long

Weekday: $65 

Saturday: $95 

Sunday: $85

Rafting Level V 

Previous rafting experience strongly recommended. Includes a hot lunch. Minimum age of 16; 3 – 7 hours long

TRAP SHOOTING 

Trapshooting is a specific form of clay target shooting; it is a game of movement, action and split-second timing. Trapshooting requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4.25 inch discs that are hurled through the air at a speed of 42 mph, simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter. Great for beginners as well as expert shooters.

HORSEBACK RIDING

Enjoy great horses and beautiful mountain scenery in the fresh air that only country living can provide. Ride includes a combination of country roads and forested trails through scenic forest lands. Maximum weight limit for riders is 265 lbs.

SKIING AND SNOW TUBING

During the winter months, visit Blue Knob All Seasons Resort for some winter fun. Located only 35 minutes from Omni Bedford Springs Resort, Blue Knob is the highest skiable mountain in Pennsylvania and offers the most challenging and longest ski trails in the state. Activities include skiing, snowboarding, a tubing park and cross-country skiing. In the warmer months, golfing and hiking are big attractions.

Venture downtown for a delightfully enlightening wine tasting at a local vineyard. Invigorate your taste buds with 11 different wines to taste and crackers to cleanse each palette. This tasting is informational to provide the best experience with any wines you may take home and enjoy.
