The natural splendor of Pennsylvania awaits you. Whether you like to raft or bike, we offer a variety of outdoor activities for every skill level and group size.

 

TALLY HO SPORT SHOP

Located within the resort, Tally Ho Sport Shop is your destination for booking all on and off-site outdoor adventures. Biking, tennis, fishing, and geocaching equipment are also available for rent. For more information or to reserve an activity, please call (814) 624-5685.

FLY FISHING 

Fly-fishing is one of the fastest growing sports; try your hand at it and find out why. All instruction, equipment and fishing stories are included. This sport is dependent upon water conditions.

Half-Day (4 hour) Guided Excursion (30-minute drive off-property):

  • One person: $300 per person
  • Two people: $400 per group
  • Three people: $500 per group

Full Day (8 hour) Guided Excursion (30-minute drive off-property):

  • One person: $400 per person 
  • Two people: $535 per group
  • Three people: $635 per group

Details:

  • Must be 16 years of age
  • Must possess a current Pennsylvania fishing license, Pennsylvania fishing licenses can be purchased online

COVERED BRIDGES OF BEDFORD COUNTY

Bedford County is graced with 14 covered bridges, all 100 years old or more. Handcrafted, these bridges range in length between 56 - 136 feet and are located throughout the county. This self-guided journey can cover as many bridges as you would like and will give you the opportunity to see some of the county’s beautiful countryside. Maps are available in the Tally Ho Sport Shop.

HORSEBACK RIDING

There is no better way to enjoy the outdoors than on horseback. Our horses are excellent for beginners, as well as experienced riders. Come take a ride and see what the Pennsylvania outdoors has to offer.

RIDING CLINIC | $72

A 45-minute clinic covers the basics of horse safety and handling and is designed to make the rider feel more comfortable around a horse. You will spend time on the ground leading, feeding or even brushing the animal. The clinic is designed primarily for those age 8-12, but is also for anyone who may be a little extra nervous around horses or who have had no or very limited exposure to them. This program is a great way to get introduced.

TRAIL RIDE | $112 On-Property, $90 Off-Property

90-minute ride on wooded trails with varied terrain and scenic vistas.  This is your opportunity to catch a glimpse of some of Pennsylvania’s wildlife. Experience is preferred, but not required for this ride.

Details:

  • Rides on-property are available dependent on season and # of riders.  Rides off-property (30-minute drive) are available daily.  At either location, rides are offered at 11:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm.
  • Riders must be at least 8 years of age. Children between 8 - 12 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian

WHITEWATER RAFTING 

(April - October Only)

Available Monday-Sunday off-site in the  Laurel Highlands, at the Youghiogheny River. 

 

Rafting Level I-II 

The calm and scenic Middle Youghiogheny Class I and II rapids ar a great introduction to whitewater rafting. By paddling the gentle waters of this nine mile section of river, you'll enjoy the unending beauty and wildlife of the Laurel Highlands.

Includes a deli lunch. Suggested minimum age of 4; 3 – 5 hours long. Max 6 people (not including guide).

Weekday: Adult – $43, child under 12 – $32  Guide Escorted (no guide in your raft)

Weekend: Adult – $69, child under 12 – $59 Fully Guided (guide in your raft)

Saturday: Adult - $53, child under 12 - $43 Guide Escorted (no guide in your raft)

Rafting level III-IV

Enjoy the beauty and sheer excitement of the Lower Youghiogheny River. The 7.5 miles of Class III and IV rapids will challenge and excite, but not intimidate even the novice rafter. Highly trained and professional staff will guide you through and exciting experience you will not forget.  

Includes a deli lunch for fully guided tours and a snack for guide escorted. Suggested minimum age of 12; 2 – 6 hours long. Max 6 people (not including guide)

Weekday: $59 Guide Escorted (no guide in your raft) at 1:00 p.m.

Weekday: $84 Fully Guided (guide in your raft) at 11:00 a.m.

Saturday: $84 Guide Escorted (no guide in your raft) at 1:00 p.m.

Saturday: $109 Fully Guided (guide in your raft) at 11:00 a.m. 

Sunday: $69 Guide Escorted (no guide in your raft) at 1:00 p.m.

Sunday $94 Fully Guided (guide in your raft) at 11:00 a.m.

Rafting Level V 

Some call this section of the Youghiogheny River the ultimate challenge. with the Miracle Mile dropping off over 115 feet per mile, you will be part This tour has a "Miracle Mile" dropping over 115 feet/mile and is the most exhilarating experience available. Because of the challenging nature of this section of river, everyone participates in the adventure. 

Previous rafting experience strongly recommended. We use specially designed self-bailing, four-person rafts with foot stirrups to help you tackle the technical Class IV and V rapids. One guide and three guests are in each raft, with only our most experienced guides accompanying you on this tour. 

Includes a hot lunch. Minimum age of 16; 3 – 7 hours long. Guide is in the raft. Max 3 people (not including guide). 

Monday: $141 per person 

Friday: $154 per person 

Saturday: $191 per person 

Drive Time: 90-minutes

TRAP SHOOTING 

Trapshooting is a specific form of clay target shooting; it is a game of movement, action and split-second timing. Trapshooting requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4.25 inch discs that are hurled through the air at a speed of 42 mph, simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter. Great for beginners, as well as expert shooters.

SKIING AND SNOW TUBING

During the winter months, visit Blue Knob All Seasons Resort for some winter fun. Located only 35 minutes from Omni Bedford Springs Resort, Blue Knob is the highest skiable mountain in Pennsylvania and offers the most challenging and longest ski trails in the state. Activities include skiing, snowboarding, a tubing park and cross-country skiing. In the warmer months, golfing and hiking are big attractions.

Venture downtown for a delightfully enlightening wine tasting at a local vineyard. Invigorate your taste buds with 11 different wines to taste and crackers to cleanse each palette. This tasting is informational to provide the best experience with any wines you may take home and enjoy.
