The natural splendor of Pennsylvania awaits you. Whether you like to raft or bike, we offer a variety of outdoor activities for every skill level and group size.

Tally Ho Sport Shop - Located on the Resort at the Tally Ho Sport Shop books on and off-site outdoor adventures. Rent GPS units, fishing poles and tennis rackets. Learn more by calling (814) 624-5685.

FLY FISHING 

Fly-fishing is one of the fastest growing sports; try your hand at it and find out why. All instruction, equipment and fishing stories are included. The location for this sport is dependent upon water conditions. Pa Fishing License is available online and reservations can be made through the Tally Ho Sport Shop.

COVERED BRIDGES OF BEDFORD COUNTY

Bedford County is graced with 14 covered bridges, all 100 years old or more. Handcrafted, these bridges are as long as 136 feet to as short as just 56 feet. Your day’s tour will answer many questions about covered bridges, including everyone’s favorite question “Why did they cover the bridges?” Today’s journey will take you to some of the more notable covered bridges in Bedford County and a driving tour through historic downtown Bedford.

WHITEWATER RAFTING 

Available Monday-Sunday off-site in the  Laurel Highlands, at the Youghiogheny River. White Water Rafting available April-October.

 

Rafting Level I-II 

The calm and scenic Middle Youghiogheny Class I and II rapids ar a great introduction to whitewater rafting. By paddling the gentle waters of this nine mile section of river, you'll enjoy the unending beauty and wildlife of the Laurel Highlands.

Includes a deli lunch. Suggested minimum age of 4; 3 – 5 hours long. Max 6 people (not including guide).

Weekday: Adult – $43, child under 12 – $32  Guide Escorted (no guide in your raft)

Weekend: Adult – $69, child under 12 – $59 Fully Guided (guide in your raft)

Saturday: Adult - $53, child under 12 - $43 Guide Escorted (no guide in your raft)

Rafting level III-IV

Enjoy the beauty and sheer excitement of the Lower Youghiogheny River. The 7.5 miles of Class III and IV rapids will challenge and excite, but not intimidate even the novice rafter. HIghly trained and professional staff will guide you through and exciting experience you will not forget.  

Includes a deli lunch for fully guided tours and a snack for guide escorted. Suggested minimum age of 12; 2 – 6 hours long. Max 6 people (not including guide)

Weekday: $59 Guide Escorted (no guide in your raft) at 1:00 p.m.

Weekday: $84 Fully Guided (guide in your raft) at 11:00 a.m.

Saturday: $84 Guide Escorted (no guide in your raft) at 1:00 p.m.

Saturday: $109 Fully Guided (guide in your raft) at 11:00 a.m.

Rafting Level V 

Some call this section of the Youghiogheny River the ultimate challenge. with the Miracle Mile dropping off over 115 feet per mile, you will be part This tour has a "Miracle Mile" dropping over 115 feet/mile and is the most exhilarating experience available. Because of the challenging nature of this section of river, everyone participates in the adventure. 

Previous rafting experience strongly recommended. We use specially designed self-bailing, four-person rafts with foot stirrups to help you tackle the technical Class IV and V rapids. One guide and three guests are in each raft, with only our most experienced guides accompanying you on this tour. 

Includes a hot lunch. Minimum age of 16; 3 – 7 hours long. Guide is in the raft. Max 3 people (not including guide). 

Monday: $141 per person 

Friday: $154 per person 

Saturday: $191 per person 

Drive Time: 90 minutes

TRAP SHOOTING 

Trapshooting is a specific form of clay target shooting; it is a game of movement, action and split-second timing. Trapshooting requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4.25 inch discs that are hurled through the air at a speed of 42 mph, simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter. Great for beginners as well as expert shooters.

HORSEBACK RIDING 

There is no better way to enjoy the outdoors than with horseback riding. Available Monday - Friday. 

RIDING CLINIC | $59 

The clinic is a 45 minute tutorial on the basics of horse safety and handling designed to make the rider feel more comfortable on a horse. You spend time on the ground getting comfortable leading the animal and then spend time in the arena. The clinic is designed for those who are very young, who are nervous around horses, or have no horse experience at all.  Children between the ages of 8 to 12 years old, must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

FARM TRAIL RIDE | $75

90-minute ride that includes country roads and forested trails. Children between the ages of 8 to 12 years old, must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

PRIVATE CARRIAGE RIDES | $450 per carriage 

45 minute ride and can have up to 6 people.

SKIING AND SNOW TUBING

During the winter months, visit Blue Knob All Seasons Resort for some winter fun. Located only 35 minutes from Omni Bedford Springs Resort, Blue Knob is the highest skiable mountain in Pennsylvania and offers the most challenging and longest ski trails in the state. Activities include skiing, snowboarding, a tubing park and cross-country skiing. In the warmer months, golfing and hiking are big attractions.
